for the inside of the front fenders i thinned out the liner and sprayed with with a modified HVLP gun. it's a much slower process but i'm liking the fine texture. it will be mostly hidden inside of the engine bay. the line follows the uprights to the hood and along where the tub meets the fenders

Nice cruiser and trailer! Where did get your seat covers?
Thank you. Not sure on the seats. PO is no longer active here.

Loose fit all the hoses and will start wiring tomorrow. Had to place an order at Vescovo Toyota of Las Cruces, best prices online, no tax, and free shipping, for some missing fittings for the intake. A wise wizard was kind enough to tell me I was all messed up.

Edited: I just looked at mine and you should have 24 total bushings (each spring/shackle requires 6 bushings). The 8 wider bushings connect the springs to the shackles. The thin bushings connect the shackles to the hangers and the springs to the pins

Also, not sure how much lift you are adding or what size tires you are planning to run, but you will likely need to add castor shims to the front axle to prevent the dreaded “death wobble”.

I went with the 2 1/2” ccot shackles which gave me about 3 1/2” overall lift and I believe I ended up needing 6deg shims on the front to get my castor to +4deg and eliminate the wobble.

There is apparently a sweet spot for castor…. Too little and it wobbles, too much and it becomes hard to steer and is hard on the steering components.
Thanks Trigger6, I am doing the 2.5 inch shackle as well. Where do you get the shims and how do you install?

REAR: If you are using the stock driveshaft, you want the angle on the ujoint at the differential to match the angle of the other ujoint connected to the transfer case. To do this after adding the lift, you will need to tip the front end of the differential down. I ordered/installed 2.5deg shims from 4crawler.com for the rear to level mine out.

FRONT: On the front, it’s about getting a positive castor angle. Stock is +1. After installing the new springs, I took it to a local alignment shop and they measured the drivers side front at -1.75 and the passenger front at -2.5 (not sure why they were different, but the shop wasn’t too concerned). Anything negative will give you “death wobble”, and mine had a very bad case….

I currently have the 4deg shims from CCOT installed on the front, which pushed the castor to around +2 and it held the road much better and got rid of the wobble. Since I’m running 33” tires, I’ve read that I probably should increase the castor even more to the +4 to +5 range, so I plan to swap out for 6deg shims at some point (CCOT also recommends purchasing their 6deg shims for 2.5” shackles on their website….)

Also make sure you have new spring pins available to install.

After you add your shims be sure to put your suspension at full droop and make sure your ujoints dont bind.

A beautiful morning here in the panhandle. 64 degrees, dry. Stopped about 6:20am on my way to work to snap a quick photo.
Unfortunately it was 17 minutes before sunrise and I could not wait around. Dawn photo turned out ok.
