Robb MC power surge is mounted for good. Cleaned the mounting plate up and added Zinc hardware with fender washers.

Will this work and fit on my ‘69?..

Pulled front differential to inspect. (I had been told by the 4WD salvage I purchased the vehicle from back in 2013 that it had 4.11 gears and mechanical lockers.) Looks like an open diff and it's 4.88 gearing. The ring gear shows some previous trama and the pinion shaft looks like it has been ground on severly. The unit turns freely and there is no excessive lash but I'm not sure I can live with that ratio.

I have some 4.11 if you need them.

Put air in the slow leak; pulled driver's seat prior to re-locating with a new bracket; working on seat bracket Tuesday. Then off for parking brake rebuild, then new wheels and tires.

I'm just about ready to fire up my 40 with a rebuilt 383 stroker. Added coolant and it started to drain out the back of the block. I was pretty sure it was the intake manifold gasket.

Here is the gasket

I really don't know what I was thinking when I dropped the manifold on but it was totally smucked.

New gasket on and the manifold carefully reinstall. Maybe it'll make some engine sounds today.

Took my power steering pump on a weekend trip to my in-laws, because I am running out of time before the big trip next week. I figured it's going to be bonding moment with my father in law :)

i've been waiting for this for a long time. i went with the local auto paint store which sells Armour Liner. They took a scan of the dash (capri blue?) and color matched it - the color in the can was almost perfect but it shaded a little differently once mixed with the liner. This was sprayed on with a schutz gun at about 70psi. to get the underside of the rockers and fenders i attached a 6" section of rubber hose to angle around the corner as well as get inside the ribs. while this was effective, it got a little thick in spots. not too happy with that but satisfied that it's well covered/ protected and probably never seen anyway. ended up using a gallon (mixed).

Damn, sure glad I wasn't planning on using my stash of Vader lights to supplement my retirement. The market just been flooded. Same thing happened with my stash of hand primer fuel pumps. Is there anything you haven't been able to find?

yes , in-fact there is john .........🤔

i have not amassed the wealth of Teq Knowledge you indeed have going on , nor the ability to share it with anyone anytime in such a selfless and kind way 24/7

Yeah it’s amazing the amount of early rare parts coming out of the Middle East now, like these Vader lights in Yemen.

Shoot I’d like

Shoot I’d like one. Maybe two.
I’m with you. :) The guy with those Vader lights and SO SO much more is binmahmoodstores on IG. Seriously amazing and crazy rare parts in his warehouse.

Finally got around to doing Fridays to do list. 😀 4 hours of labor and $50 at Lowes for materials later.... the quick and dirty refurbishment of my fiberglass cap was complete, well before I needed to to reinstall for winter. Crafted a headliner from a RV rug and added a fresh coat of white to the top. Not perfect or OEM but it works for me.

Late into the AM I assembled 2 fully restored and newly yellow chromate plated inside and out late modle 40 /55 hazard switches

these are the 83-84 only ultra rare like rare as all get out

red triangle 🔺 USA soec and non USA spec knob international language logo type knobs design

the smaller one non USA

the larger one usa only spec

not even Canada 🇨🇦 spec got the big one

I know how many land cruisers were imported in 83 and 84 to USA spec here in well USA

and if I take that number and add say 10% witch I think is high , for replacement parts sourced at a dealer like a new stand alone knob

if you follow me

the number of these USA red triangle 🔺 ones is was under 500 and maybe much much less still alive some where in the USA Today ?

I know only one dude who has a nos one in a parts bag

it will never be for sale he says I believe him

no way Jose I would part with a nos one

But …

these 2 freshy ones the knob and switch together will be online store later today

time will tell and history will be the judge if I’m spot on or not ?

I will I am without a question because I only have 3 I have ever seen availble let alone scooped up cores to refresh my way
The period correct Vintage TEq way ….

hand crafted with JiS pride in every way shape and form I know how to
Do and well dream up big pipe dreams …..

3-D printed pull switch knobs ?

Eazy Peezy .......

warm up with a MAP gas or oxy torch FAST like jack quickie

vise grip it with pre-set ones to a DEATH GRIP Level

turn out with ease

you will NOT hurt the caliper if you are jack flash fast on the heat pin point ONLY the tip of zerk and half main body level

Thermo heat transfer takes longer from part to part then the target part jack flash inital heat up to indeed a minor starting cherry red glow

done this many times

was formally taught this in T-TEN ..........

good luck
