Finally installed a new 2F vacuum advance distributor in my 1973 F engine. 60 lbs oil pressure on the gauge screwed into the oil sending unit port on the block on a cold engine at 1,000 rpm or so. (Yes, it means the oil pump is engaged.

Factory set points out of the box at 0.017", (FSM range 0.016 - 0.020") which resulted in a dwell of 40 degrees (FSM range 39 - 43 degrees) It appears that with no wear, the numbers work!

Does anyone have a part number for the 61080 distributor rotor? City Racer and SOR, maybe others, are selling the distributor assembly, but not the tune-up kit. My rotor oxidized quickly, and I like to have backup parts ready.

I wonder what the condition is of your old unit, the springs, centrifugal weight bushings, etc? Does the old vac advance diaphragm still hold vacuum well?

I'll look it up.

Distributor cap - 19101-41010, same part number as the F engine cap, 6903 - 7501.

I haven't performed a post-mortem on my non-USA distributor yet. It had been working okay, but I felt I needed to replace it, being over 40 years old.

Drove to Lowes then local Toyota dealer to pick up my tags for my new Tacoma.
Sales guy looks out the window and says......nice jeep.....WTF!
One minute to pick up my tags. 20 minutes to educate two young salesmen about the Landcruiser History..🙄

Thanks! I use SolidWorks for work/school stuff andOnshape for personal fun stuff. I really like it.
I have been using Solidworks for about 21 years now and I like it a lot.
I am working from home so I have a seat of Solidworks Premium that I can use during off hours.
Onshape was started by a couple of former Solidworks CEO's.
Now Onshape is being bought out by PTC (the big dogs in CAD) so I am sure they have a very bright future.

Started to clean up the inner fender, since it was off.
Really just more head gasket replacement procrastination...

When you go to clean up the VIN plaque it is tin and not steel. I used a brass wire brush and scratched the hell out of mine i would soak if in dish washing soap and use a scrub daddy. for the paint i used a black paint pen and when it was dry scratched off the lettering with my finger nail.
