Last week I ordered these jack handle pieces from my local dealership. I’m not certain they are period correct for my 78’ but they are functional until I can find some original ones. I believe the crank should be a cast piece instead of tube.

Yes the original crank handle was cast, but those will be functional. The rods look very similar to the originals, but not yellow of course. Nice score.

I don't think any of our other states claim to be "out back" on their plates...fair dinkum

Well, guess I'll post up my Aussie plates attached to a couple Fosters beer tins. I was at the liquor store when the beverage Co. that distributes Fosters was there.I saw he had these signs and asked where I could get one. He said here you can have one of each. Looks cool on my patio. Hey, we can't V.B. here..

A pet peeve on my rig is my hood latches. I don't like how they look when they are latched as you see a rusty or off color on the little bar. This is because when they are painted off the rig, they are not stretched completely. Spread them apart and there you see the bare metal again.

So I made a thing. I needed a way to paint the bar when it is completely stretched like it is on the hood. I am quite proud of my jerry-rigged paint stand. I am going to bring my latches down to bare metal and then paint them the same white as the rest of the vehicle.

Latches are painted the body color now and came out nice. The little stand I made worked like a charm. It allowed me to paint in all the difficult areas.
