Buttoned up a few more things on the forty, retro fitted a set of ‘78 defrost heater ducts to my ‘76. Just slipped some thin walled corrugated hose down the OEM duct to cover up the holes for the later window defrosters. Now I have defrosters that air does move through, all though I probably will have a towel next to me. Had to manipulate the passenger side defrost housing to all clearance for the 2000 Bosch wiper motor that I’m going to use. Just used a heat gun and a wood dowel to mold the plastic out of the way. Looks like s***, but its hidden and works. Sorry I didn’t get and picture, but I will if someone is curious. Lastly I set up the bikini top and door straps. Next up is to get it registered, insured and put the license plate on it.

nothing major but i got this little gem a few days back...really happy, even though it was like 7 bucks or something of that nature. i have a cheap inclinometer but this just screams Awesomeness ..the inclinometer i use to have was a beautiful one JDM with alt/pitch/roll and lock out..but also if was for a RHD and it tilted in an odd direction because of that...I shimmed it, still looked odd so i sold it and got about 150.00 for it. (yes I wanted more but you know what ever i paid 50.00 at a flea market for it...along with an original mint Dunhill Humidor in all the packaging and the felt enclosure for 40.00 sold it for 700.00

so now i have this...awesome!

if an when the rockers come in I will take images, but first I'm wanting to start it..been awhile

Made it to Cruise Moab 2018... had an amazing time! 1,000 miles. 5 nights in the trailer. Snow, rain, and sunshine. Fins n Things and Hells Revenge trails. After long road trips, I swear I'll never do another in my 40.... until the next one anyway.

Hit Toquerville Falls on the way home and camped next to the creek. Took this waterfall shot on the way home in the mornin:

Finally my 40 is going to paint!! The tear down has began. Front end is off, all fender flare holes are welded, and blended, small crack in the pass. side corner of the hood drilled, ground, and welded. Labeling bagging and tagging everything. I'm over the moon with this decision to get her done. My wife's granddad would love to see this, I wish he was still around. Everything will be blasted before going to the body shop, sticking with the rustic green and cygnus white.

a long time ago i built this sandblasting cabinet it works really well has a light and a vacuum hookup but is to small for some items that i am needing to sand blast ( jump seats, other seat parts, radiator support). i started to blast some of this stuff outside with my cheapy pressure blaster and was going through media faster than i could afford so i thought id make a sand trap.

it worked pretty good the biggest problem is it also traps the dust, but i saved a bunch of media i went through a tank 3 times with one bag and i still have plenty left that would of been 3 bags if i hadn't trapped some.

One other problem it bounces a lot back on you i have just enough hair left on my head to trap all the rest of the bag that the trap missed  i still think it was worth it!

Got the rig ready for some summer driving. Took off the soft top and doors. Always seems like a whole new vehicle when I go topless. Currently prepping for H42 install, disc brakes and power steering. Would love electric power steering but I don't have my mind wrapped around the difficulties related to a '72 yet.

What type of insulation is that, and what are the differences that you notice now that you've installed that product?
It came from CCOT:
Insulation ~ FJ40 Front Floor

It helps reduce overall cabin noise and im sure it will help keeping me cool this summer once I get my AC working again. Next phase is to add Dynamat inside the doors to deaden the rattling hardware inside the doors. Overall my cabin is fairly quite now thanks to all new rubber, the floor insulation and tightening up everything. The split transfer case sure helps too :)

Just received a few more parts for the weekend. 3D printed insert for center console with 12v ports, 3d printed ashtray, a new thermostat for flushing the radiator and switching over to the red stuff and the (almost) final pieces of my air intake. I just need a case of R12 now and I'll be happy.
