I washed mine on Wednesday for the first time since I painted it, the mud fell off of the bottom like a fat kid falling off a teeter totter.
I parked it in the garage, it has been raining ever since. Dammit.

Decided to pull the pitman arm off of this FJ60 box so I can send it to Texas for a rebuild.
I cobbled together a homemade puller setup and went to town with both an impact driver as well as a 3 foot cheater bar.
After several cycles of heating it with a torch, it finally started to move.…
My enthusiasm was short lived as I realized it just stripped the threads out of the puller.
Holy hell this thing is on there.

Of course it rained. I call a car washing my "rain dance" Oh, and here's one more bit of Aussie swag for loosechange. Bought new. I think they're still in use down under.

Yesterday I replaced my rear leaf springs. When I did my recent overhaul (2017) I thought
the 63 OEM springs were good, at least the arch out of the truck was real close to spec. But once under the truck they just sagged even with new Bilstein 5100 Series 33-062518 shocks.
So I looked around for new leaf springs and found that it was difficult to find a vendor that had OEM springs but many that had lifted springs.
ARB sounded pretty good so I decided to try the CS001R with a 2" lift. So I also checked what Bilstein shock was comparable to the ARB recommended shock for the CS001R and the closest match was a Bilstein 5100 Series 33-186542 with 9.15" travel. I was somewhat astonished that the price for six bushings was $31 and change per spring, but you can't do an install without them.
Interesting enough to mention that I contacted ARB Tech and asked how the CS001R springs would work with OEM front springs and was told it would be a lousy ride and couldn't comment on the use of Bilstein shocks because they didn't sell them? The Tech should have stayed with tech instead of sales, the ride is pretty nice.
Now I have a pair of Bilstein 33-062518 shocks with four months of wear left over.

I had a broken flat head style set screw , in the 1972 Hazard Knob was still very tight and not budging , so it was removed from
the switch body main housing w/ the aluminum pull shaft still attached .
I first drilled a 1/16" pilot hole then bumped it up to 7/64 , inserted the ACE EZ out screw extractor & with " Minimal" effort using only finger pressure the set screw gently rotated out counter clock wise
I swear by the particular set EZ outs , Super high quality

I used my next-to-smallest Craftsmen extractor this morning to remove a sheared off zerk fitting in one of the driveshafts I'm refurbishing for my '86 FJ60. Easily backed out with light finger pressure. Last night I had to partially take apart a U-joint but forgot to remove the zerk fitting first - wondered why the 20-ton shop press wouldn't pop the U-joint cap out

Hey Mud - Time of year for the spring valve adjustment on Goose!
Pulled the plugs, looked great
Measured the compression: 140, 140, 135, 140, 135 & 130
Powder coated the valve cover and installed new washers and acorn nuts!
Took her down the freeway and around town, she runs great!

Spent the day under my Landcruiser looking up at my fishing poles wondering when they would be used again?
But i have made a pact with myself that i would take this spring and summer and get my rebuild done. Its been haunting me for many years. Today was a good day, i left my phone in the house and stayed in the shop all day.
Got my motor put back in for the last time. Bolted down and permanent. Also got both my drive shafts installed. I installed my suspension that i got in the other day, and put my new tires and wheels on no more airing up tires all the time. Thats alot of checks on my check list.
