Went and looked at it at the paint shop, its still in the blocking stage. Took pics with a new phone the wife bought but cant get them to the puter. Brung the chassis home to drop engine and drive train in.

A very big THANK YOU to Roger at City Racer! On Monday 8/28 I ordered weatherstripping for my soon to be completed hard top and today a package arrives from Roger with everything I ordered. Fast service, terrific customer service when I entered a part I really didn't need and offering to notify me when an out of stock part arrived has made me a believer in him. Thanks Roger, your customer service is far and away over 99% of everything I have seen out there. And, although he isn't cheap by any means, his pricing and shipping costs are reasonable! (I'm positive I forgot something and I will need more for the doors and I guarantee I will be back for more!)

Got the seat backs done.

Don't worry those pin holes got filled even though the back side was welded up, they're at the blaster now.
Got the rear bushings, pins and shackles on and front tore apart. Pulled the valve cover off to run the valves....and of course, while its off might as well have it powder coated. Pulled the carb off to put the right insulator on. It had the earlier style with out pan on it. Damn that's a bad pic.

Finally got pics off new phone to the computer, I'm a low tech guy in a high tech world. Paint shop guys said it wasn't to bad, hope they don't take to long.

If they only knew how much time I had invested in her.

Fenders shouldn't be to bad.

Hope it comes out like this Super Bee. They tried to talk the guy out of putting that spot light and fake pipes on it but he wouldn't listen.

@gator25...... so painting is the only thing you don't do on a vehicle? Or maybe you're just being a good citizen doing a good deed by supporting local business :D

Lmao, yea I suck at painting. Have never done enough of it to get good at it. As for the rest of it I'm just a COB (cheap old bastard) that knows his limitations, most of the time. There is a lot that I would have done different. Honestly, if I did have the money I can't trust anyone to do things the way I want them done.

Wow the spot light and pipes are cheeeesy

Decided to clean up the OEM floor mat. Elbow grease and 303 protectant got me this far, have to keep working those rust stains out.

High winds and heavy rain from the remnants of Harvey are predicted for tonight and into tomorrow morning. I don't have the hard top completed yet and no soft top but the Trollhole trail cover is going to come in very handy. Thanks Marshall, it fits well!

This arrived today and will go on the tailgate once I get it back from the paint shop. Well made, heavy and well worth the price. Happy I went ahead with the purchase. A little bling for the luxury farm truck.

Now you're going to have to make the rest of the truck 'worthy'!

Or not. Every time I put a piece of bling on one of my trail rigs, I still get that itch. Luckily I've got the whole Mojave desert nearby to scratch that itch.

Now you're going to have to make the rest of the truck 'worthy'!

Its worthy! 1970 FJ40, F engine, H55 tranny, split case TC, disc brakes and the list goes of. I just wish I had more time to take it off road and use it to its full potential. Its mine and I am super proud of it!

I have been piddling around with my Toy. Put an aluminum radiator in and chased some minor rust spots. Bolstered walmart's income with the purchase of a cheap carpet and some floor mats. Cut the carpet to fit bound it then threw on the mats.

Pimped the doors with some funky panels I made. I used some gray vinyl I had to match the headliner. Wished I had used black but don't know if I would like it any better.

Did some fuzzy math to figure how many miles I have on this rig. The odometer showed 49,000 when I bought it. It had around 180K when the six gave out. Put a 350 out of a 1975 Chevy BelAire (Mileage unknown but unmolested)in 1984. I rebuilt it in 91. Current mileage shows 96218.2 I figure I only put 227,000 miles on it so with the 49,000 when I bought it totaling 276,000 miles. The pleasing part is my 1991 rebuild has only 46119.4 and is still strong and using no oil other than what was leaking around the valve covers and pan until I put new gaskets on a couple of months ago. Thinking about putting serpentine belts on but was set back by the price for fancy aluminum kits. Anyone have suggestions or experience?

You could get the serpentine system from an 88' Chevy pickup. I used that on a 68' 327 block I have in another project. I had to drill and tap one hole and it bolted right on.
