Developed a slow leak in my old three core rad, so I sprung for the OEM 4 core. Lots of rain up here at a mile high so needed something to do in the garage.................... No leaks and a nifty drain port at the bottom too:beer:

They have phones down under in Stralya, right?

Edit: Sorry, @cult45, I was just messing. I hadn't read further down to see that Mark had already replied. Let us know when/where we can see the film!
We just got them couple weeks back. They wanted to get the running water plumbed in first. It is a hell of a costly exercise, as well as one in patience to order parts over the phone overseas. Especially when you do so with an email. I ended up going to a metal-fab shop and getting said parts made.

Will let you know about the film! I expect full 'Mud support! :D

Coming along great! Like the bike you managed to catch in the background (a little bit Easy Rider style) Ride a BMW F800 myself, always a toss up as to whether to go riding or driving, either one beats walking:)

Thanks man, that's my old shovel Betsy. I love that ole bike, ain't nothing better then your knees in the breeze or air in your hair. All my buds ride Twinkies I'm still riding my ole Shovel, man I can lean back against the wife or bed roll and putt 60-65 FOREVER! But when we're running in a pack she's geared so 80-85 ain't a problem, but you better have something lean back against.

Rebuilt my FJ60 Steering gearbox this weekend. Went really well with my homemade teflon seal compressor(hose clamp w/a strip cut from a windshield washer bottle) and put in the freezer for a couple hours! Slid right back together!!

Got my front axle installed back under the 40. Almost finished with my 60 knuckle disc brake conversion. Just need to run some new brake lines.

Looking Good!

Lets see some pics once you get the brake lines installed. I'm in the middle of my knuckle swap and need some good ideas how to run the brake lines.

I finished installing the heater plumbing and ductwork. Then I mounted the AC unit. After that I moved to the other side of the dash and installed the accelerator cable and pedal as well as the throttle cable.

I'm excited to finally be at the point where I can bolt the transmission to the engine. Pretty soon I can stab this combo in my 40 and reclaim my 1 car garage!

Installed a proper rear end, 40 series full float. Now changing a rear tire is much easier. Resting the wheel on the hub helps out the aching back.

Installed my newly acquired J hook, now the passenger side matches the driver side, I like symmetry ~ part of my OCD.

Hi,

Can you tell us more about the rebuild process? A friend has a leaky PS gearbox in a a LJ-73 that needs attention.

Thanks,

Alan

Made a nut plate for the d/s seat pedestal, tied in the d/s rocker to the support, chased all the bolt holes

And was about to cut the main beam and got cold feet, glad I didn't now. Wasn't thinking about the tub being upside down and almost made the cut outs to big, small pad goes inside not the wider one.

So all this scribbling has got to be cleaned off and redone, going to use square tubing for the mounts.

Thank god!

I can't wait man! The whole ambiance of the film looks amazing based on the stills you've teased us with.

What did you paint the end of your brake shaft with on the 8274? Looks like a good solution to keep it from rusting.

Little things: Here is the nasty state of the P/S side taillight lenses on my 77:View attachment 1405489
Got this for $5 from @TCSTARK...much better.View attachment 1405490
'AutoSol' works very well and quickly to remove the yellowing and haze off plastic lenses. I've only polished lenses by hand using it. I have also used automotive polish/wax and a buffer to clean up lenses and headlights.
