My 71 moved under it's own power on the 4th. Only made 1 lap around my house, then died. Got it to idle better tonight. Timed it warm @ 7 btdc. Still need to get some propane and test for leaks. Thinking about bumping my dwell up some. Still some tuning to do but I'm happy it runs.

Is that last pic looking east/northeast towards the Wallowa's and the Eagle Cap Wilderness? Beautiful country. It's been quite a few years since I've been able to spend a few days in that area, mostly Joseph and Wallowa Lake. I know, tourist trap, but when you are meeting extended family that is not into real camping and really roughing it what can you do?

Don

We were up by the towers on Mt. Emily. That picture is looking more towards the south at the Elk Horn mountain range. I feel guilty for not getting out like this more often. We live so close to all of this beauty, but I work stupid crazy hours.

Hope everyone had an awesome 4th of July weekend. Mine was spent welcoming these 2 gorgeous beauties to our country. Fresh off the boat from Colombia. White one got a full frame off restoration and new OME suspension installed. First picture was when we first found it outside of Medellin Colombia.

Bought a 2F engine that was completely rebuilt by SOR to the tune of $3k by the previous owner. Unfortunately for him, he didn't fully insert the distributor and the oil pump did not turn causing the engine to seize. He sold it to me for a whopping $5. Just got it back today from the machine shop who charged me $550 to get her back to brand new. So I got a beautiful rebuilt engine for $555. Today was a good day!

so... make sure the distributor is properly installed. Sounds like you stole it.

Mounting this was easier than the first time, and the engine mounts turned out better

@Dynosoar the shackle inversion is intentional as they are running interference with my Saginaw gear box. I'm not sure what the difference is between this setup and the setup I had on my 40 but there isn't enough room to allow proper installation. I'm also going to need to shim the gear box out about 5mm in order to keep the shackle from rubbing the gear box. Or possibly switching to OME shackles.

But thanks for the heads up just the same.
