Today I installed the rear spring shims to correct the drive line angles. Used 3* degree Belltech shims and I'm happy to report the drive line angles are once again pretty close to perfect.

Here are a few of before and after pics, used the exact same reference point for taking the before and after pics.

Unfortunately, I ran out of time since familial matters take precedence over work on the 40 and as such will have to re-schedule a test drive at another time/day to measure success or failure of this mod. The primary reason for the road test is to detect audible and mechanical vibration emanating from the pinion drive line area. I've been experiencing an increasing speed sensitive vibration since the OME springs, with a 2.5-inch lift, installation.

Also installed several electrical boots which I purchased from @Coolerman

Replaced the rear brake cylinders as the passengers side was leaking. Same side I recently replaced a leaking axel seal (did both sides) My daily driver is DIW for a couple of days awaiting rear brake shoes. The drivers side shoes are down to 1/16".

A big thanks to beno! The wheel cylinders arrived in 2.5 days via USPS.

Any one know of a good P/N for a rebuild kit for OEM wheel cylinder. I would like to keep the originals for back up parts for the big South American tour.
I will have to hone a bit to seal the new pistons.

Did a valve adjustment and oil change today. Switched from rotella to valvoline 20w50 to give that a shot. My valves are loud even after the adjustment so I thought I would try the thicker viscosity in the 'ol tractor.

After that I picked up my boys from
School and spent a few hours on the lake shore. Beautiful winter day in the PNW with a bald eagle and osprey out fishing as we watched.

Nice looking engine compartment. Any details on the fire wall insulation and how you secured it would be appreciated.
Looks fantastic!

I bought 4 of the big sheets (36inches X 46inches) of heatshield products HP Sticky Shield .... You can buy or it comes with seam tape that should be used to seal sides or corners ... You just peal and stick then use a roller ....
The stuff is amazing you can find some cool videos on YouTube about it

I'm assuming this is an Auburn LSD? Very interested in how this performs for you, there isn't a lot of people running these and I'm considering one for my rig.

Yes it is. I'm not interested in lockers (maybe e-lockers one day), especially since it's actually for the other half and will see mare than its fair share of street use. Maybe in a year or so I might have it road worthy..
