Got it all buttoned back up. Now onto the firewall heater hoses, pesky heater hose and heater control valve this week.

Crank seal and oil pump cover seal today. I'll button it back up tomorrow. 3rd time I've used the "bump the starter" method to remove the crank bolt with an old 3/4 ratchet on an 80. Works like a charm. For the oil pump cover screws, I clean them out with brake cleaner and use the correct phillips bit with a 1/4" impact gun. Tap them in tight with a hammer first. Backs them right out.

That’s some solid PM. I also lined up my new alternator belts. And after the first start one of them slipped and they are no longer lined up. Did yours slip at first start?

Ha. Not sure yet. I don't have any coolant or a battery in it currently because I'm going to do the FHH, PHH and heater valve next. Likely will start that tmrw.

Marathon seat covers. Passenger went on second. I pulled the seat and got it way tighter. Going to circle back on the driver's when I have time.

Overall pretty happy with them. We'll see how they age.

Takes a while to get them fitted up perfectly. I like mine. Did not like the headrest covers, kept the old SOR ones. Armrest cover is kind of nice too.

Last day of the season the mountain yesterday. Beautiful time. On to hiking season! :bounce2:

Project "Presentable Paint" kicked off this weekend. Starting with the hood.
I actually enjoy the preparation part of painting as it is process based rather than skills based. Primer has been down for a couple of days. First run with 400 complete. Guide coat on for next run of 400 then move up to 600.

One or two little imperfections that will get taken care of when the panel is back on the truck. Overall I am very happy with how it has come out of the booth.

Solid work! Someday mine will get repainted. Too much other stuff that takes priority right now. :/

PHH, FHH and new heater control valve installed. This is my 4th 80 replacing the PHH on. 3 of my own and 1 of my brothers. The first one I did the "right" way by keeping the metal pipe with the new short piece of heater hose to the head nipple. I was a green mechanic back then (2011) and it took me 6 hours. The last 3 have all been the by-pass method. You just cannot beat it.
