Worked on this yesterday, Over size power steering reservoir with a filter.

Fabed up a mount, tack welded it in place to make sure it all lines up.

Test fit after welding it home.

The bracket finished and painted and the reservoir excepts a Toyota filter. Sweet!!!

Drivers side window was iffy whether it'd go up or down. Pulled the window switches And gave them a cleaning per searching other success stories here on MUD. It was filthy and looked burned. Before pic only... Cleaned up and works like a champ now.

So my 80 has been parked for 4 years or so. Shortly after replacing the PHH, radiator, radiator hoses, etc., I blew one of the bypass hoses that connects to the underside of the throttle body. Of course no one warned of that, like they warned of the PHH. ;). I had recently purchased a 2006 Tundra AC 4wd Limited so the Land Cruiser sat. Then one cold night (I'm in SoCal so we're only talking low 40's) my power steering fluid puked all over my driveway. My assumption is the hose between reservoir and pump is so hard, the clamp couldn't keep pressure on the pump connection when the metal pump shrunk more the the rock hard hose. Then life and health issues got in the way. I've decided to start bringing her back to life. Ive ordered $200 worth of replacement cooling hoses as well as power steering and transmission hoses. After that I need to rehab the brake hydraulics. Then a lift kit (leaning towards the Icon stage 1, 3") and tires. This will be a moderately built trail rig. I hope to have it on the road in about 6 months or so depending on available cash and health.

After the intro, it begins with degreasing the engine and replacing the hood & hatch struts. Behold a reasonably clean engine bay and self supporting hood!

Replaced my radiator for the second time this month. Bought a Koyo through Advance Auto. It developed a leak in the bottom crimp connection 250 miles after the install. Ordered another one and replaced it Sunday night. Cut my install time down by 3 hrs. Really hoping I don't have to do this again.

Picked up some rear ashtray delete/USB charging ports from Delta Vehicle Systems and installed those last night. Super easy to install. A little tough to determine which wire was blue with black stripe and which was black with blue stripe. This will be my kids favorite mod.

Installed the Marlin Crawler tie rod and 555 ends. Next the relay rod and ends and new ome stabilizer. These rods are heavy duty compared to stock.

Stock tie rod on the left, new tie rod in the middle(painted), new relay rod on the right(not painted yet).

long weekend trip to BuckRock lookout in Sequoia/Kings Canyon National forest.
Obsessed over engine coolant temperature both to and from. I dont know if I've made my self parnoid reading all the failure posts pertaining to over heating.
100 degree ambient temp and 75-80 MPH engine coolant temps reached varied from 195- ~205 or so (per ScanGauge 2)
going up the mountain at times they were at 212-218, the cooled to 195
Much of the time while on the dirt roads, flat and up hill temps stayed at ~195
I did a hose and thermostat replacement a month or so ago and did not notice that temps were getting this high, or don't remember.
When i got home I double checked my work and found nothing obviously wrong.
New thermostat is in correctly (small wiggle pin is at 12 position)
coolant and water mixture is at 50/50
does not look like there is air in the system.
no leaks
I've not done the fan clutch mod cus I did not seem to need it.
About to take a longer trip and having angst about it.

Lol. Don't let the memes get to you man. Your temps seem absolutely normal and you have nothing to worry about, especially with a relatively recent cooling system refresh. Overheating really isn't super common or that big of an issue with these trucks at all. Keep an eye on your temps like you are, and you will likely be fine. Don't overthink it or let those thoughts ruin your trip - that's ridiculous.

Scored on a set of 5 Falken Wildpeak Mts 38x13.50x17s. Now i just need to start trimming where need and I'm good to go! Oh and I need to find a single spare Sequoia rim.

I learned the importance of only using lock washers in perfect condition. Not making this mistake again, it ruined soooooo many things. I had adjusted the bearings about 300 miles ago (100 or were offroad). And I think about 3 miles into the trail the preload on the bearing just let go because the tab on the lock washer was pretty bad😅. I thought the brakes were fading because I had to left food brake half the trail because the throttle cable gets a little sticky when it’s 100 out. Turns out it’s because it was pretty much just holding the wheel on. I feel really stupid posting this but I think it’s always good to learn from other people’s mistakes. If that lock washer is a little questionable, just get a new one. Don’t be dumb or cheap.

We assume you are referring to the big star washer that is between the nuts for the wheel bearings?
(For clarification for those that don't know)

Botchered up my FR drive flange and birf splines! Yay!

It’s the washer with the tab behind the innermost spindle nut. I always thought it was called a locker washer🤷🏽‍♀️ but I miiiight be wrong
