Did you order the dash cover directly from escape? Shipping comes out to be almost $100 bucks when you calc it on their website. They are rad and I really want one!
Whoa that’s crazy. No I had equipt.com order it for me and make sure I got the right one. Ended up around $100 in all.

I've been waiting to order one for a while now but the tan 80 series one has not been in stock for ages. Right now they only have a gray 100 series.

Yeah on the website it shows out of stock. I called Paul and he got it direct. I don’t think they’re stocking inventory but can get you a quote. Took about 5 weeks from payment to delivery.

ok, I will give them a shout. on equipt's website, it just has a portal to the escape website, where the shipping is still the same. $100 bucks, I would totally buy one. but paying more than the price of the item, in shipping, nooooope

Yes I see that on the portal now. Looks to be new. I am a bit perplexed by the model selection "80VX/GX 1995 - 2008", I guess I had forgotten that Venezuela made their own 80 series' until 2008. But even with $39 shipping from South Africa it comes to $94 so that's not a bad deal.

I got mine through Equipt Expedition Outfitters. They are a US Escape Gear Dealer. Local to me so I could just pick it up at their shop, but I'm sure the shipping would be less than $100 from them.

The Equipt website now points you to a "equipt-escape gear" portal that lets you buy them directly. Like I said a couple posts back, it comes out to $94 including shipping which is actually less than what Equipt is selling the 100 series dash pad for on the regular website. Probably would take a long time to arrive though.

Double check, the shipping doesn't show up until you checkout...

If Paul isn't bringing in inventory and is just having them dropshipped directly from Escape Gear then yeah, you're probably going to get stuff with higher shipping cost.

I believe the Equipt-Escape Gear portal is new for this year. I must have ordered just before it. I would just call or email Equipt about any questions. The portal probably streamlines orders direct to escape gear and provides secure payment too. My package came direct from Africa and was $40 shipping. No other dash cover in the US really comes close to the fit and function of the Escape Gear for the 80 so no complaints here.

What is the "prinsu like rack" and curious about the higher quality aluminum? I was quite impressed with the quality of materials on my Prinsu.
Pretty sure he's referring to Bowfin Cruiser's rack which is very similar to the Prinsu in the general shape and 80/20 load bar setup but uses a completely different mounting bracket. 80 Series Roof Rack

Had saggy visor syndrome so got some LS visors from @kbFJ60 for a quick fix. Also my dash was starting to crack in its 2nd spot so thanks to @RFB and @Box Rocket I ordered an Escape Gear dash protector after seeing theirs. Was too warm though for snowfall and ended up raining on the drive home :(View attachment 1886056 Also had a thorough smog check but passed no prob. those dash covers are the best. Had mine about a year.

and those brackets make all the difference. I've had four different racks on my 80 including an ARB and an Inti from Venezuela (practically unobtainium) and this one I have now from Bowfin is by far the best and probably the last. Super quiet, solid as a rock, I think a cherry picker could pick the whole truck up by the rack. The guy that makes them, patrick, is also great to work with. I've had the 80 series one about 9 months and I just ordered one for my 62.

Stopped in to look at my 80. I'm basically done with the new carpet install and waiting on my seats from land cruiser heaven. Ordered them a month ago and they should be here in a few days. Really have enjoyed dealing with frank. I know some on here have had bad experiences but I called him and he promised he'd have it here in a month and looks like it's going to happen. Really excited to get this interior finished. I'll post up some pics when I get it finished. This is what the old carpet looked like

Couldn't get any of the stains out. We tried several different methods before giving up. Really glad I went with new carpets now that I'm done. And it really was a fun project. Nice to have the body completely clean under the too. Lots of weirdness under there..
Got my 4runner listed now too. 2014 sr5 with a mild lift and roof rack if someone wants it. It's on mud here under 4runner classifieds. Took a pic of the lx

Another successful father daughter outing on Sunday. This time, we got to play in the snow!

She loves riding in the "Daddy Truck", pronounced "Diddy tuck". We spent all day out on the trails and she didn't complain a bit until we got back into the city.

Got a little sloppy in the mud on my way out. She was egging me on from the back seat yelling "Wow" and giggling whenever the tail slid out, so we did a few donuts in one of the bigger mud pits. This was my first time in the mud with my 80, and it might be my last. I spent almost 3 hours yesterday scraping mud off the underside and I still was dropping chunks on my way to work today. A lot of work for 5 minutes of fun, just like having a kid.

Made it home by about 7. Had her in bed a little later than usual, but made it back outside to photograph the eclipse that night.

Finally got my order in from the container store for my attic rack. Threw that in with some hose clamps and it really is super solid. Now I have a place for all my light stuff (towels, rain gear, hammock, etc.). I'm sure it will change a lot over the next few months as I work out what all I want to carry.

Also gave it a quick wash to try to get some of the road salt off and since it's surprisingly warm today after being in the teens most of the week.
