The UPS truck...I mean...Santa's sleigh...got high centered in the church parking lot. Ned drug it back up until he got traction. Ned saved Christmas!

So my new UPS friend dropped off a surprise for me this morning. I broke my 15,000 lb strap pulling him out and he wanted to replace it. I told you he was Santa!

Order a 1992 cdl switch to day ($76 at a memphis dealership) and the cover for the fuse panel $13. The lady said there was only 2 fuse panel covers in the states and that they may not fill my order for it. I hope they do, it's ugly seeing the fuse block all the time.
Switch will be here tomorrow, so I plan to install it and do the 7 pin mod this weekend!

Fixed my muffler...again. Pismo did a little damage but not too bad. Nothing my neighborhood muffler shop couldn't band aid.

Is that stock piping still?

That's a part you should be able to get from any partout in the classifieds if they don't fulfill your order.

Or contact @arcteryx aka Jason aka Cruiser Yard. He probably has one or twenty. And think about anything else you might need. He's a good dude. I've been very happy with every experience with him.

One thing that we used to see at the track and I am not saying you were doing this, but I think a lot of guys get into the mind set they they have to check torque all the time, so they would come off the track from a hot session, pull into their camp and whip out the torque wrench and hit all their lug nuts. Well when the hub is really hot you are actually stretching the studs. Similarly I know our hubs get no where near as hot, but if you did some driving and pulled in and torqued them as many times as you have said I could see there being a similar issue.

From my harrowing experience from turkey day...The short of it is I suspected my Craftsman torque wrench. I was going to send it out to a calibration shop in Burbank but I didn't feel like spending the $35 and driving out so I just used the method from the link I posted.

Here are current numbers on my torque wrench (Listed /Tested) in ft/lb:

10/10
20/21
30/33
40/44
50/58
60/70
70/88
80/101

So what's the issue? I have been retorquing my lugnuts over and over and over and over again at 101ft lb. On top of that everything else I've been using my torque wrench on has been off. It turns out the problem is me and specifically the tools I have been using. I'm tossing this Craftsman pile of s*** and spending the money to get a good one. This of course means ALL of my wheel studs are suspect now.

Officially 3X Locked! First time and it locked right up! At the dealership today they had record of "front locker wiring melted, removed" from 1997. 19 years and it popped right off.

Can someone snap a pic of where the front locker wiring harness routes? I got it connected but have an absurd amount of leftover harness. The harness is wrapped to protect from heat but not sure how that area would be near the exhaust. And have no idea where the clips pop in to.

Thanks.

We calibrate our torque wrenches every 3 months and if it gets dropped it has to be re calibrated in our aviation shop , we have matco and snappy

Awesome. Can't wait to see a ton of pics from your upcoming trip!

Santa came early for my Land Cruiser. Set of five BFG A/T KO2. No more slipping and sliding!

I couldn't believe how great the BFG AT KO2s are. I've always run the older generations and thought they were good. Night and day difference.

Nice, started trying to put my receiver hitch on today and was unable to get the factory tie downs off....Makes me curious to how they built this, was the plate bolted on first and the round stock loop welded on after? can't get a socket on it without cutting on the round stock loop..here's a pic, thoughts?

It appears to be bent. Should be able to get a socket with an extension on it easily.

Both rears are bent to the same degree, maybe in shipping or some overzealous tow truck driver did it.... I started to pound a 3/8 17mm socket on it but thought better of it without researching, there's no way my impact socket would go on there without relieving the round stock, now that I see @reevesci 's bomb proof mounts i'll relieve it and change em out.... hint hint 4 of em should work well with what we have going... @reevesci

I'll be able to make it happen. Waiting on final pricing now. I'll be bring some in bare metal and some in RED powdercoat.

They will be ready for @LS1FJ40 when he rolls through I hope.

Thanks for the reply. I'm considering swapping over to some Slee 4" rear springs. Are the mediums you speak of the SOF4RM ?

I had the 3.5 inch OME lift on my truck before I swapped to the Slee 4 inch lift. The difference is day and night. If you go with the entire Slee 4 inch kit, it allows you to get your truck back into the proper configuration for a lift of that height and it shows in the ride - offroad and onroad. I'd consider the heavies. You don't have to add that much gear to your truck to make the heavies more appropriate. I added the Slee rear bumper with both of the swing-outs plus a 3/4 inch plywood tool box and somewhere around 500 lbs of tools and the ride if fabulous. This lift is well thought out. If you have questions, call Slee and ask them. They are honest and up-front about what will work best for you based on what you plan to do with your rig.
