They aren't cheap but they are worth it. I put one in my 93 back in June. Have had this one sitting, waiting to go in my 92 for a month. It takes 15-20 min to install.
You need a file to shave down the opening a hair in the dash. That is about as difficult as it gets. Order inline fuse holder while you are at it and waterproof ring terminal connections. Good to have around.
I keep a few of the inline fuse holders laying around for when I decide to do something like this.
Put the fuse holder as close to the battery terminal as feasible. Heat shrink butt connector to the 12 ga positive wire. You can possibly just put the heat shrink ring terminal on the inline fuse holder. Run your wires up along the cowl and down through the rubber grommet on the fire wall on the driver side. If you don't have anything running through that grommet you'll have to poke a hole and feed your wires through it. It comes in to the cabin above the brake pedal. May have to move the insulation on the fire wall to see it. Then feed your wires behind the dash, below the steering column. There are two screws below the ignition. Take those out and lightly pull the bottom of the dash out. Stick your fingers behind the dash and pop the blank plate out. File down the bottom of the opening (you'll see a little lip). Test fit your USB plug until you get it shaved just enough to be a tight fit. Feed your wires through and plug them in to the back of the plug. Voila you have USB.
Shout out to @LandCruiserPhil for finding this plug and doing the write up on it originally. I took this from him.
And I originally purchased the cheapo $12 plugs. They are crap. Spend the money and get the Blue Sea plug. It's worth it.
All ready for paint... Chehoo!!!!!

I can tell you exactly how that happened to the Tacoma driveshaft. He clearly hit the shaft tube on that rock. It doesn't take much to collapse a tube with a hit like that. Think of a soda can. You can apply straight downward force on the can and it will support a bit of weight but as soon as you push on one of the sides, it collapses. Driveshafts do the same thing.
Cool pics though.
Ordered my HAM yesterday on amazon and it showed up today! I know NOTHING about it but I know how to use the FM radio!
It's pretty cool. I take my technician test on the 17th!

Good luck on your test! First get rid of the antenna and get this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00D...5r+antenna&dpPl=1&dpID=31Srhl0wM6L&ref=plSrch
Makes the range so much better
looks like about 3" clearance. Do you just keep driving until you hit the wall?
