I forgot this also followed me home somehow. Magically. Mysteriously. 1 owner 130k miles. Will also be built a little to be the chase car for the ol pig because the wife needs her comfort features.

So upon more and more driving. I have found the root cause of all my drivability issues. The carb secondary doesnt open unless im at like FULL wot. It just fills with gas. So idling in my driveway givin it some revs that second bowl filled up over the whole venturi and then when you floor it, it drowns and you have to back out again. But its leaking from pretty much every mating surface there is on the dang thing. Was supplied by SOR back in 2018 before it sat and rotted in the backyard of that body shop. So just going to save up money and go EFI for sure. The rebuild kit on SOR for mine shows out of stock. So if anyone wants a 69 specific carb for any reason, lemme know. Lol

Check out @cruiseroutfit for a carb rebuild kit!

Tell Kurt that Pablo sent you.

converted to a weber 38 carb, then drove it over to a buddys house who has been a toyota master tech for 35 years. Once he is done going over it he will give me two bills - bill of health and the bill of repairs..... I am determined to make PP2025

Plan B is I also picked up a 2007 sequoia parts car that runs/drives. But I would have to convert the transmission to a passenger drop tcase. been scouring looking for tips and tricks on that. Either it makes it to PP with the straight 6, or the 2uz. Either way im makin it

Should be an adapter plate to swap to different trans transfer like a rf150

Like so if you haven’t found a solution. I’m doing r150 and 3.4 in one of my 45s soon

Friend of mine Samiur is the owner of Rallye Craft in Pakistan and has a manual trans and passenger drop tcase they had in a 1uz FJ40 - hes checking on the shipping cost for that and I will only pay shipping and have the full manual swap with tcase, just have to get the engine pulled and wiring sorted out

Well looks like we are going with plan C actually. New engine will be delivered (in the vehicle its coming from) on the 8th. Full standalone with coil over plug conversion, running on speed density. I am the one who wired/tuned the engine in the car its in currently, so will be a great donor. will still be sourcing the trans/tcase from Samiur

so if anyone wants the stock engine/trans stuff let me know

You do know the top radiator core support unbolts? Not to mention the hood, grill, etc.
I took the radiator out at least. Lol and gravels all i got brother. I do everything in it.

picture of said truck with chain on the hoist. lol he had to lift the transfer case while I used a jack handle to pry it up, and it popped out and hit me in the arm and shoved me back. I got a few cuts and bruises from this endeavor but its going to be worth it

I have been doing some reading. and I cant find much on spring over lifting this. I would like to do that, but when I search "fj55 spring over" it just gives me 354724378 pages of threads with just FJ55. The ones I find that are actually about SPOA, its incomplete projects which is really common on older vehicles like this. Anyone happen to have any links to complete, successful SPOA?

SOA used to be a lot more common when FJ55’s regularly had the piss wheeled out of them. The mod is really only good if you’re planning on running 37” tires or bigger.
There’s still a handful of guys here on the board running SOA that could help guide you through what you’re aiming to do.

I just want to flip it for some good lift, improve angle of approach, raise the diffs up a bit. I can counter the flippy with better offset wheels that poke more. Back in my younger days when I was doing samurai rock crawlers, we would just flip the springs, YJ shackles, box up the front mount of the rear shackles, slap a "Z-Link" on it and beat the piss out of it. Z-Link being where they took the steering bar, and bent it like a Z and reinforced it and it did everything we needed. Could be a temporary solution until I save up a jillion dollars for the high steer kit since its outrageously expensive, 800$ for two mounting plates?

sway bar I assume you can just put different links onto? or cut and tube them to the right length? Driveshaft angles I will be able to do whatever I want with considering I will be fabricating whatever transmission/transfer case I buy first into it. Currently between TH350/NP203 and the A34 with transfer case from T100.
