I have been set on a metal dash, but I really like the look of your kydex dash. I like that hvac unit as well. It may be time for a little soul searching and rethinking my plans.

I made a little progress today.


Made a pointer for my timing tape and got it set before I put he head on.





Put the remote oil filter adapter on and found the correct fittings.



Cleaned up the casting and installed the new heavy springs.
Now I just need to machine the rocker arm pedestals to clear the ARP studs.

With the cam, RPM and boost I’m running it was recommended to go with these springs.

The engine I bought had a low hour bottom end and theoretically the cam was fine but I’m an old hotrod guy and can’t leave anything alone so I’m hotrodding the little Cummins just a little.
The factory cam peters out around 2200 rpm and I was wanting a little more RPM for for running the gears a bit longer. The Colt Cams stage two allegedly is exactly what I want, from talking to them it reduces turbo lag, faster spool up, greatly improved throttle response, 100 – 150° EGT drop, 1 – 3 MPG increased fuel economy on average, RPM: Idle – 3000
I also modded the P-pump and added the adjustable timing pump gear so we should be able to find a sweet spot where we make power without smoke.

Jim,
Don't show us a dash like that and not offer to make some for us to fight over. I like the clean lines with good guages. That dash is HUGE upgrade over the pitiful thing that Toyota made for the pig. If you CNC an aluminum one, could we twist your arm to email the CAD file to us to have made locally? I have not given much thought to the panel until I saw yours.

I bought the split case form Eric and yes not only is he very knowledgeable he's a super cool dude.

Yes sir, I have the 44% low range with 8% high range over-drive gears coming for the split case.
