Pablo,

I'm a big believer in battery maintainers, I have them on all my equipment and trucks. batteries last so much longer keeping them fully charged. What's left to do to get the AC working?

Derail the thread a second...favorite battery maintainer Pablo, Ron?

hive mentality ,i love it

Wow, I did not think my post would be that provocative!

I went Battery Tender brand. We have a corp-o-rat account at Batteries Plus at work, so I usually go there first for things like batteries and bulbs. They carry the Noco brand for those little jump-start batteries, so I got the :princess: one for the 470 (@J Mack loves that cruiser best).

And yeah, driving them is one way to keep the battery charged. I think anyone who has witnessed the horrors of mag chloride would never want to expose their Pig to that unholy substance...

Enough clearance between 3FE clutch fan and Piggy radiator! I was thinking we might have to go with an electric fan, but when we had the mounts repositioned to shift the radiator forward, we had adequate clearance. No shroud, but Piggy never runs hot. Granted, I haven't tried to run her up Eisenhower tunnel w/ the AC on and 8 husky men at 80 MPH...

I still have a lot of reading to do, but how did you guys reposition the radiator mounts to accomplish the fan clutch cleanrance? I think I'm going to be following you down this road...

What I did was have the radiator shop remove the mount brackets off the Pig radiator and move them all the way back on the radiator. That shifts the radiator forward in the engine compartment so it clears the 3FE fan.
Make sense?
