flattering to know that my cruiser is someone's desktop.

Mendocino,
Thanks for the link. Reading about the gravity of your daughters situation is shocking... then I realize, we've been going through the exact same thing - I P.M.'d ya with some more comments that other may not care to read about. My daughter also just started maintenance. Best wishes to Claire and your fam.

Hi All:

Well, here is a pic of a "not-so-clean" FJ40 that is pretty much my DD during the summer, and sometimes in the winter!

Regards,

That's a nice dirty driven cruiser Alan. ;)

Residual, my condolences.

Those are some absolutely beautiful pics you got there, I stole 4 of em. ;) I grew up in N Utah but I don't think I've ever been to providence canyon. Mark that as another place I must see. Sweet cruiser, almost too sweet. Enjoy man.

Peace...

Thanks Hawkdriver,

What part of Utah did you gow up in? I grew up in Eden near several ski resorts - great place to live. Kinda uppity now, but beautiful. Moved here to go to school, then lost interest. Slacker I know. Prov canyon is pretty cool, if you ever get up that way continue on up the mountain to Logan Peak. Great views from the top, willard peak is nearby as well. Wish I had more time to get out and see these cool places I live by.

Brigham early on then Ogden, I worked at Powder for a season and those resorts are my home, Nordic, Basin, and Powder. I really want land in Eden or Liberty. My folks live just across the divide from you. I love it there, Willard peak is one of my favorites. Do you recognize the peak in my avatar. There sure are lots of good folks from my hood on this board, I just gotta get back home. Peace.

Here is a pic of Eden fo ya! ;)

nice, drove that road to powder a hundred times or so. I worked at wolf creek as a kid cutting greens. Taught in the ski school with my dad as a peer instructor as a kid. The avtar must be Ben lomond? Back in the day I was all over those mountains either skiing, in the cruiser I bought when I was sixteen or on my mountain bike. Nice place to live. Logan is beautiful too, and a little more affordable. Wish I had the time to roam the hills like I did then without a care in the world. Too bad you have to grow up.

not so clean, 1975, aluminum tub, warn 5687 winch, 31x10.5 super swampers

Wow! You have done wonders to old "Dead Bo" I just showed your pics to my wife and she is pissed that we ever sold it! She is mad that we sold "her" first Cruiser. Oh well, guess I will have to get her another one :) Glad that you have it fixed it up. Looks great.
I am sorry to hear about your daughter. I wish her and your your family the best.
If you ever pass through Colorado and are in the neighborhood of Carbondale, look me up.
John

My daily driver from 1979 to 1985. Still had the dealer's "paper plates" in this picture.

Do I spy tape marks for cutting the rear fenders???

yeah, I have had the tape on there for like two weeks... I have been too chicken to do the deed. Something about cutting on a great orignal and straight body that makes me cringe!

They have to be cut though, they are already getting banged up.

grease cruiser.
Ya, Dead bo has been good to us and we've tried to reciprocate. I think I'll get a roof rack, some hella's and maybe a winch next. Remember how the exhaust pipe used to be too close to the floor by the drivers door? (I re-did the exhaust so its all back to normal now) Anyway, just the other day I pulled out some shoes to put on... they were the pair I wore back from Carbondale when I bought it from ya. All the tread was melted together smooth on the heel. Cracked me up, and reminded me of the drive home. Good times. That was a fun trip, and good to meet you and your wife. I hope you're enjoying the married life.

If we're down that way we'll look you up. It's a beautiful place. My wife would probably enjoy shopping again at Mitzi's shop. I still look for a decent 55 from time to time. Seen a few in CO. Not nearly as nice as the one you had. It's not like I need another car though so I probably shouldn't look. Tell the wife she can take deadbo for a spin - only problem is one of us making the 8 or 9 hr drive. Good to hear from you John.

Here's my pretty much all original smurf blue 78. It's my (every-other day) daily driver. Repairing rust spots and fresh paint are next on my list.
