So, I'm reading the May-June edition of True West and look was I spied! It is obviously a stock photograph since the credit reads "Courtesy of Wyoming Tourism". But it belonged to somebody. I can see that it has barn doors. I know this is a long shot, but crazier things have happened on this site.

It looks like its got the cruiser lean.

Beautiful pic and 40 but I don’t think it’s @rkymtnflyfisher , the pic is in southern WY and he’s up in MT, and that’s not a 40 on 4” skyjackers

@rkymtnflyfisher

Pretty sure he has a 4plus carrier hitched to the rear and either a 4plus or an ARB Elk slayer mounted on the front.

Great pic though!!!

Definitely not me, I have a 74 with a hatch. Plus all the goodies bolted on everywhere else. That looks to be a clean cut plane Jane 40.

I'd happily recreate that photo if someone skilled behind the lens needs a ride though.

Being as it's in southern Wyoming, I wouldn't rule out the Steamboat or northern Front Range Colorado crowd.

I agree, the pic has a 30 year old vibe to it.

That doesn't appear to be the same 40.

Courtesy of Google lens.

My original photo shows a FJ40 with barn doors (1975 and newer) unless they were retrofitted. The left front turn signal in the second photo appears to be the smaller one (pre 1975). So, rkymtnflyfisher is correct.
