Up to now I used the carb build date as the anniversary date (had to celebrate the 50 years last year ), which I think is the closest but probably in advance of a few days from the truck build date. Engine block build date is 15 days before the carb.

Somehow I was remembering October 21st for the carb but it seems I dreamed the final 1

And engine seems to be 08/10/1973

So good job on the date, 11/10/1973 looks like a good one!
I like to think it was not the last one of the day, because once I stumbled on another FJ40 in France with my serial number+2 and I imagine they both came out together from the factory before to be loaded on a ship to Europe
