Removed oil pressure sending unit and blew air in. Had a clean rag in front of rear main oil port. This is what came out.

Just looked a back side of #4 main bearings. Looks like they have marks from the blocks oil galley holes. This is very interesting. New bearings with a minute or two of run time. How did the oil marks get there??? Hummm.....

Other side,

#4 cap,

Me thinks @Poser is on to something....

I hate that this happened but I think you know what happened.

As soon as I saw the oil stains on the back side of the bearings I knew what happened. Cannot believe both front and rear bearings were installed wrong. I was looking for anything but that.

Got a recommendation from @2fpower on a machine shop to take the crankshaft to. Dropped it off Wednesday and picked it up Friday. They polished the rear main journal. Now waiting for the new rod and main bearings.

Have not done anything with the engine yet. Still waiting on parts.

If anybody is interested here is the differences between 77 with rear vent windows and 76 w/o vent window rear roll bars.

76 is on bottom.

Last post, for a while anyway.

Installed the engine again. It runs and sounds good. Not driveable because of leaking brake wheel cylinders and clutch slave cylinder. They were all new but several years old. Almost sent everything to be stainless steel sleeved but did not want to spend the money. Guess I should of done that. I am just tired of buying new parts to replace new parts that are bad. This might of been "The straw that broke the camel's back"

Glad to hear you got it running. Your almost on the road.

I hate the dual wheel cylinder drum brake system. You could probably pull the wheel cylinders apart and run a hone through them real quick and they will probably be fine. As long as the adjusters aren't rusted solid should only take 5 minutes per wheel cylinder. Clutch slave it pretty cheap. Sucks they are leaking though. Glad its running. Ive almost broke that camels back many times. Someone broke into my 40 a few weeks ago and I wondered whats the point of having anything nice.

New wheel cylinders installed. New clutch slave cylinder installed. Brakes and clutch cylinder were just gravity bled. If nobody is interested in buying I will consider parting it out.

Drove about an hour in the brush. No idea to fix the video.

If you really get to the point of being done with it I would entertain buying it. I’m in Oklahoma so not too far.

But I sure hope you decide to keep it and drive it as much as possible.
