My roof show up with a slight bend in the drip rail corner. Bent back with some pliers. I was expecting the worst from FedEx which was cheaper than DHL shipping it.

See, they should’ve used the World’s Largest Roll Of Tape.

Back to cleaning the block today.

I have definitely gotten a bad case of ‘new-itis’ already- the problem with the 70 series is that virtually EVERY PART is available and mostly damn cheap. So I have bought a literal ton of parts new that I really didn’t need to, just because they were available.

I’m at the point where I can clean up the timing cover and just keep moving, or I decide to pull the crankshaft pulley and timing cover and go in deeeeeep.

I think I can live with this amount of surface crud.

Strong opinions, MUD?

Aaaaagh, now I don’t want to...

Still, I made a bunch of progress today. The intake side was totally greasy and the exhaust side was 95% dry. It was copious amounts of degreaser and blue towels for the wet side, and a wire wheel on the dry side.

Time to ponder whether to pull everything off the block or not.

Shop dog Nate doesn’t care one way or the other. He’s just glad to be taking a nap in the sun.

Poverty pack,man, poverty pack.

Manual windows, manual locks, no sunroof, no power antenna, no flares, vinyl floors, barn doors. 1HZ, h150 manual transmission, part time t case, but yes to A/C.

I can relate. I bought my FJZ75 last August and the only thing it needed was a new door handle crank for the driver's side as the knob was missing and the plastic holder for the hood support rod. Over $1000 later I had my first shipment from Partsouq on the way. Fast forward to today and the 8th shipment is due for delivery on Saturday. I have changed out a few items for "new" like my rear bumper pieces but 95% of what I've ordered is "just in case" with my thinking being get it while I can.

Did you take the UN decal off the door? Just kidding... those poverty packs always remind me of the UN rigs.

@2fpower it is a UN rig. The door decals are long gone, but it still has a UN badge on the dashboard, and ‘UN’ scratched into the turn signals and corner marker lights.

Today’s big development is that I have three pedals that fit. Can confirm that brake pedal 47110-60410 fits the 3/09 cab- however the mounting holes for the master cylinder do not line up. I think they will just have to be re-drilled as there is enough overlap for it to all fit together. @c2dfj45 did you have this problem?

Edit: The pedal bucket fits, I just needed some minor bracket clearancing. However, either this is the wrong booster or it’s going to need a spacer between the firewall in the back of the booster. Will explore.

HDJ80 booster also hits the firewall. Research time.

Spacer is 44731-60020. Found it as well.
