Also, the injector nozzles were absolutely filthy, good call @orangefj45. As usual.

@coldtaco I would’ve used one if I had one. I thought about running to Advance or NAPA and renting one, but the claw hammer done worked. I ran out of time this afternoon, so I hope I can get the last two out tomorrow.

@tucker74 I’ve never asked to borrow another dude’s tube of lube...I have a full bottle of assembly lube already.

We need to have a barn day/Roundup shakedown soon. I don’t think you’ve been out to the new place yet?

I ended up running to NAPA to get that :) I reasoned that I had always wanted one so now I had an excuse.

I got two HF slide hammer sets. If you haven’t got it out by tomorrow afternoon let me know and I will bring them over and see if they work.

Dave, it’s carbon deposits corroded on. Wonder if this is why it ran so poorly...fuel starved/poor spray pattern?

Either way, it’ll be better after an injector rebuild.

I only offer special friends my lube you know ... just offering in case you can’t find anything good locally (I couldn’t). Love to come out to the ranch soon, we should do @77mustard40 80 suspension on that lift before Katemcy 😉

We sure do. Shop crawl 2020...

Injectors number five and six are freaking stuck. @Mr Cimarron will be bringing over his slide hammer for gentle extraction.

In good news, a lot of parts have arrived this week. Chiefly among them are the heater core and underdash A/C unit. The heater core is the old-dash style and matches up with my old heater core, and mates to the A/C unit. Both of them are within spitting distance of fitting in under the dash. I think this is going to work!

Cruiserparts came through with a bunch of new part takeoffs. Got a new style clutch pedal bucket, complete...can’t wait to see if this bolts up to the firewall.

They had new takeoff black seatbelts for a reasonable price, too, as well as an alternator, and a couple other small parts- dead pedal, clutch slave and hard line.

Pretty cool to be able to use the later model AC....you can run a cabin filter instead of just the factory screen. My earlier dash truck doesn't have a removable screen BUT has a slot that looks like it could be cut and a filter shoved in it.

Cool video

@bottombracket Sweet Build! Someone work in a hospital? Been a minute since I seen lap sponges in someone elses home than my own! :)

That’s me...I pick up as much leftover blue towels, lap sponges, and basins as I can. The big basins have become essential in this build. Every major part that I take off gets labeled with a sharpie, and all the fasteners, hoses, and stuff gets separated by basin.

It’s amazing what you can do with the right tools. @Mr Cimarron brought his slide hammer over, and literally with two taps of the hammer injectors five and six popped out.

I’ll get everything double bagged and boxed this weekend and off to the Pacific Northwest for pump and injector rebuild next week.

Also @fl4031003 stopped by to Hotsy down his already super clean 80. We pulled the headliner out and power washed the cab of the 79. There was a surprising amount of filth in there. Looking better.

Best, the new take off clutch assembly FITS. The brake pedal I have does not fit, so I’m not on the lookout for the proper matching brake pedal. The throttle pedal I have does fit.

Might this be the pedal you need?

@lowenbrau I think that is the pedal I need, but I need the entire mourning bracket and assembly. The entire assembly is 47110-60240.
