I need to get to your place and check out the truck. Also to deliver the steelies as well if I do that before you happen to pick them up.

No hotsy for me though. :)

I think I have secured a brake pedal assembly. Partsouq had one pop up in stock...it's on the way. 47110-60410.

I have a feeling I’ll be spending most of this week cleaning the block in preparation for paint. Despite @davegonz ’s urgings, I’m painting it gloss black instead of red.

The block is pretty greasy, but at least the intake side is cleaning up pretty well. There might be a little corrosion down low on the block, but we’ll deal with that as we get there. I’m going top to bottom, front to back. I’m using a combination of engine degreaser, air compressor, screwdrivers, brushes, picks, and every OR blue towel and lap pad that I’ve got. It’s coming along pretty well. Normally, I keep all my OCD at work and relax at home, but here’s my chance to make it really CDO.

Holy crap. After three weeks of Kroiling this water pipe every single day, I finally got it loose today.

It's amazing what you can learn from 'MUD's various build threads. This whole time I assumed Kroiling was an Olympic sport. :)

Kroiling IS an Olympic level sport to me. Ask @shanko.

Forget the tiny little cans, next time I’m getting a whole gallon.

Make sure to clean the mating surface on the engine block before you pound in the new one. You probably don't need it, but I used some automotive thread sealant on the pipe and then pounded into place. Belt and suspenders!

Dave, I’m all about belts and suspenders.

Make a plan, a pattern, and a lifeboat. One of my life mantras.

The freeze plugs on the head look pretty good, but I’m wondering if I should replace the freeze plugs in the block. The exhaust side plugs look pretty grungy. Thoughts?

Replace one with a block heater.

Heck, make your own... 1/3 parts diesel, acetone & ATF. I keep mine in a large mason jar and transfer it to an old school oil can or sometimes a spray bottle if I'm really going to party with it.

And both of them will probably rot your liver.

Work has been erratically busy this week but I did get the injection pump and injectors mailed off today. Dude at the post office was amazed at how much packing tape I put on it.

are you trying to get that tape dispenser of yours to the end of the roll 😉

Joe is referring to the World’s Largest Roll Of Tape.

My dad worked at the Hershey chocolate factory back in Pennsylvania. He was a mechanical engineer who was always scavenging the plant for freebies and leftovers before they hit the dumpsters. One year he brought home these massive rolls of clear packaging tape and made giant wooden tape dispensers as a semi-gag gift; he gave them to me and my brother-in-law for Christmas at least 15 years ago. I still haven’t gotten to the end of the roll. I use it ALL the time.

Ironically I used an old Partsouq box and covered it in a complete layer of clear tape. The IP was damn heavy.

Now we know why you’re always loaded with half a hospital worth of supplies... bet that 75 will hold more goodies than the 80😉

I've never gotten a damaged/opened Partsouq box. They tape the hell out of them.

Windshield showed up ok, same for door glass. Hood slightly damaged, same for rear doors. Otherwise no worries after probably 150+ boxes.

Cheers
