Couldn't be happier with my 5.3. It scoots! 17mpg with a nice rumble. It turns heads when I step on it.

I shy away from the LQ9 a little more because of the higher compression and the necessity of running 92 octane. Nicer to not be restricted to running only the most expensive gas. It’s factory compression ratio is 10:1, according to Wikipedia.

I have heard of others running any gas in the LQ9.
for a while I thought you might be going in the direction of a diesel.
My current plan is the LQ4. I can’t wait to put my foot in it! I am only used to a slow and stinky 2f. Tried and true but s l o w w w w

Google, performance inline 6 and look at some of those engines 🤔🤓😉🐷

I own the book, “Chevrolet Inline Six Cylinder - Power Manual” by Leo Santucci “Boddaducci, ehh?” and have read it cover to cover I don’t know how many times. It’s basically about building 292’s for drag racing. Might be fun to do something like that if I had a local machine shop to work with. It’s kind of a dying trade around here. Still get all the power I’d ever need with a stock LS minus all the fancy machine work, cams, heads, intakes and everything else.
