Alright guys and gals... We finally got the Stage 2 on the dyno last Friday to get the final tune and numbers on @SHELLBACK 's beautiful 80. On the AWD dyno running 14 lbs of boost it made a WHOPPING 364 HP and 481 FT-LBS to the ground!!! If you figure 25% drivetrain loss through the auto (which we've seen most dyno'd 80s are closer to 30) then it is making around 455 HP and 601 FT-LBS at the crankshaft... She's a monster! Just an absolute blast to drive

Soon…..
Nice work my man!!!

Having talked to Hill @SHELLBACK I know that he couldn't more THRILLED !! Great work !!

When will the next batch of turbo kits be available?

This is awesome.
So this is on the stock 4 speed?
And tuned through a stand alone EMU Black?

Am I interpreting that dyno correctly by reading that under WOT, full boost doesn't happen until about 4000 RPM, and that, again at WOT, makes zero boost at 2500 RPM?

Looks like it needs additional tuning to get the boost control dialed in. The engine should be making peak HP at around 4,600 rpm, and peak torque at 3,200 rpm.

I am not going to talk specifically for Cruisers and Co but I have seen a lot of these trucks Dyno'd the problem/mistake some dyno operators have is that they want to pull in a 1:1 gear which would be 3rd gear but you can not lock the auto trans in 3rd gear so they do a gradual pull which is what it looks like here. Instead you can put the truck in 2nd and hit the 2nd gear start button and it will lock in second and not downshift. So no you are not seeing how the truck and turbo perform at full throttle you are seeing how it was dyno'd to get the max numbers....

This is exactly spot on, thank you! In real world application it develops boost much earlier than shown

Boost control on this is just handled by the wastegate, nothing fancy on this one. We were starting to choke and collapse the factory inner fender plastic baffles at 14 hence the drop off. We did not have time to pull it and at 14.7 Lbs we completely collapsed it haha Made 379 HP and 487 Ftlbs before it sucked shut. We are extremely happy with the power levels and feel 14 was a great stopping point on this one. The goal is driveability not all out performance on this one.

More pipes are on order, will be opening sales again this week. I will post up when it is open again. Unfortunately the kit is going to go up a bit. We've held out as long as possible but everything has gone up since we released it 1.75 years ago.

This is on the stock 4 speed with a transgo shift kit. Yes it is running an ECU Masters Emu Black giving us full control of the engine. 800 CC injectors, larger FPR, larger fuel pump, full 3" exhaust

In my point of view, how the turbo comes on is vastly more important than big numbers (thought the big numbers are awfully exciting). I'm looking forward to some more test results!
You should come ride in a stage 1 since I usually always have one at the shop. Stage 2 comes on much better than the 1's and almost everyone is impressed when they ride in a stage 1.

Honestly driving the stage 2 is a dream. Off the line has decent response and on the highway/grades you are never lacking for oomph... We have cruised the I70 corridor multiple times in that 80 and it will do whatever you want when you want it. You can easily be the fastest thing on the Colorado passes if you want to be.

Having ridden in this truck I can say it’s impressive.

At what RPM are you seeing boost on the street and when does full boost come in?
Stage 1's are limited by the stock ecu so you can't bring it on too early but start coming in around 1800-2000 and full boost around 2800-3000. Essentially cruising on hills, kick OD off and you have full boost instantaneously.

Stage 2 comes in pretty early and hard. Full boost before 3k

Sounds pretty usable. What's the AR ratio on the hot side?

I still don't think that people are understanding why the dyno looks that way. It is not a normal WOT dyno. It is a roll on dyno graph in 3rd gear to keep the trans from down shifting. IMO because people are more concerned with how quickly boost comes on and to have the dyno look more like real world numbers have the dyno operator lock the trans in second gear and push the 2nd gear start button and do a WOT pull from 1500rpms on.

We have another one coming up that has a manual transmission so we’ll be able to get a 4th gear 1:1 pull which will be nice to see.
