I agree with scottryana. I would be very interested in a locked 2nd gear pull from 1000 rpm or just off idle.
I should be able to get with @SHELLBACK this week and log a street pull and then post how it looks so that you guys can see what it looks like. Very different than the dyno. It makes extremely useable power and is extremely fun/modern to drive.

@Cruisers and Co Let me ride in Rosie I believe. That was a while back when I first got my LX450 and drove down to check out the shop. From my perspective it was a night and day difference from my stock LX on 34's. If I wasn't hungry for diesel sounds and problems, I would've jumped on those turbo kits. The most impressive part was the acceleration. the ride was probably over a year ago and I remember how effortless the on-ramp entry was for it.

Yup that was Rosie that you rode in. We just got her back from paint, needs a new name. She's a quick one for sure

Any idea when a full stage 2 kit will be available to purchase, and where stage 2 cost might land?
Great question, it will be available very soon to order through the website.

I will run through pricing for everything as it is updating a bit since the stage 1 hasn't changed in 1.75 years. Everything will be able to be added a la carte to build your stage 2 set up when we get it on the website.

95-97
  • Stage 1 1FZ-FE Turbo - $7312.50
  • Transgo Shift Kit - $110
  • Intercooler for 80 Series - $2156.25
  • 1FZ-FE Large Fuel Kit - $1299 - This includes PNP 800cc Injectors, Fuel pressure regulator w/ adapters for fuel rail, 340LPH Fuel Pump and a wiring harness for the pump with new bulkheads at the tank.
  • ECU Masters Emu Black - $3K to $3500 (Depending on sensor options) - ECU Masters EMU Black w/ base map, PNP Harness to mate to factory harness and prewired for the following sensors: 2x Bosch Wideband Knock sensors, Intake Air temp sensor, multiple pressure sensors (oil/fuel as an example), AFR Sensor, multiple inputs and CAN (for future growth which is coming and will be necessary for what we have cooking)
93-94 Yes guys we have movement! - requires the EMU Black option regardless of power levels desired
  • Stage 1 1FZ-FE Turbo - $7312.50
  • ECU Masters Emu Black - $3K to $3500 (Depending on sensor options) - ECU Masters EMU Black w/ base map, PNP Harness to mate to factory harness, engine management sensors and prewired for the following sensors: 2x Bosch Wideband Knock sensors, Intake Air temp sensor, multiple pressure sensors (oil/fuel as an example), AFR Sensor, multiple inputs/Aux outputs and CAN (for future growth which is coming and will be necessary for what we have cooking).
  • Wholesale Automatics Nomad or Extreme Valve Body (depends on goals) - $1299 + $450 refundable core charge

Hopefully this is helpful. Trying to get the website to reflect all of this. I am sure there will be lots of questions so bring them on! Fore warning, we're hosting the Rising Sun 4wd monthly meeting tonight so questions will get answered tomorrow.

Also for reference Stage 2 at 14lbs is essentially approximately a gain of 200HP and 300 Ft-Lbs at the wheels. Could definitely push more. For those shooting for stage 2 you will want a 3" exhaust.

Johny are you working on a coil over plug kit set up with your ECU? I would assume the emu black can support that and could get some more ponies!!?

Yes… 😁 We can set them up for coil on plug and run them that way for those that want it. We have a coil plate and the correct Denso Coils for the 1FZ.

I love my turbo so much I put even more turbo stickers on the LX to make sure you can see it from every angle

Bro my base turbo/intercooler kit isn't even here yet and you have me thinking of ways to do slutty things to make some money for stage II parts....

 You are in Nevada... They don't frown at those things, right?

My stage 1 kit is installed but hasn’t ran bc the rest of truck is torn apart around it. I think I need to stop reading this thread……. 😆

Love what you did with your air cleaner to reflect the heat. Just recently did that on mine as well.

The entire area gets heat soaked but I figured I could at least reflect the most intensely heat exposed side of the intake can.

I was curious so I installed an ambient temp inside the stock engine bay on the manifold side to see how hot it gets.

Condition:
Outside temp 80° and cloudy
Distance 20miles round-trip
Drive: Freeway and street
Mods: solvefunction hood risers and hood louvers

At idle/traffic, the bay temp reached 110°.
In town driving 96°
On short a drive on a freeway, temp went down to 92°

I believe at stand still, traffic or idle the hood risers and louver doesn't significantly draw hot air out of the bay but definitely better than no mods.
But where the hood risers does shine is when moving. It let's the hot air better escape than the hood louvers. I could only imagine how hot when the Turbo is installed!
I need to figure out how to keep the engine bay cool(er) for the Turbo.

I'm not exactly sure what my plans for the future of my rig are, power-wise, but I've always planned to include ceramic coated exhaust in the package... Maybe I should plan on a ceramic coated airbox as well. 🤔

Only if you don’t like the look of what I did to mine which is less costly.
