Oh, that's @Lil'John 's. The drivetrain and axle are from his truck. I'm just getting the 203, he's replacing it with a Blackbox for driveshaft length. He's putting the 60 under his FJ55 but I'm not entirely sure what was wrong with the one that was already under there

Fixed a few of my botches from the 80 axle swap over the summer.

When aligning my spring perches I didn't account for spring and shackle flex, so my pinion was pointed 4 degrees down. I installed some Man-a-Fre shims that are intended for caster correction and the nasty vibration is mostly gone up to 75mph.. the rest I'll chalk up to 35" mud tires and the huge-ass driveshaft. I'm happy I can go back to the short FJ62 rear driveshaft with the NV4500/203 swap.

Make sure to clamp your springs before removing the center bolt!

Also, I fixed my super janky RR axle brake line. I bough either a 12" or 14" section, both sides already flared and with fittings from the local Advance Auto. I had to relare one side to an inverted flare but the other side going into the soft line was fine as a bubble. When I cut it to out the inverted flare on the left side I put the Original fitting on, I should have done that on the other side because now there is A SINGLE 11MM fitting on this rig so now I have to have an 11MM wrench handy . I Might take it back off, cut it and put the old OEM fitting back on.

Anyways.

Pulled the ridiculous ARB safari roof rack

Got my spare rear axles cleaned and trail-prepped

Also wired the Hella lights I used to have facing rearward on the roof rack to the front

Then went on a wheeling/camping trip with the Florida FJ Cruiser club. We also had an 80 with us. My truck did awesome, runs good and does pretty well off road. Only got stuck twice, both times in mud , usually try to avoid that.

Mostly red clay hill climbs and tight trails, there was this rock wall that only I and my crazy friend Scott with his white FJ went up. I made him go first lol

WHAT NEEDS IMPROVEMENT (And how I plan to make it happen)

Overdrive - I've wanted this for awhile and the NV4500 should be a good fix.

Lower Low range. The 203 (which should get here sometime this week) plus the NV4500's lower first than my H41 will do this for sure.

Tire rub - it's bad. Cutting to commence soon as I don't want to raise it up any more then it is. Possible 1" body lift?

Underbelly protection - I have none. Usually I can get by with good spotting but it worries me.
When I build the cross members for the NV4500/203 I will definitely incorporate some under armor.

More departure angle - cutting rear quarters soon as both sides are now bashed after this weekend. I want to remove the trailer hitch and incorporate it into a wraparound tube bumper.

Selectable front locker/hydro assist - I have a front Lockright now, since I never use 4WD on the street anyways thinking about putting a mini-spool in the front with hydro-assist OR a front selectable locker. Just want to make it easier to steer with the front locked or make front locks or unlocks quicker. Going to a Saginaw pump regardless. not sure if it's worth it to invest in Cruiser axles.

And bigger tires of course, but that's always a given. Thinking about skipping 37's and going straight to 40's, though it seems 37 is about the limit of cruiser axles. My 35's are brand new though and for what they cost I'm going to get my money out of them for sure.
