Haha. Not really, sir. I had a good teacher in 9th grade shop classYou’re a badass…
What a shame to do so that body work, and not delete the plastic body trim panels.
Looks awesome though. Nice colour
I agree! I debated back and forth on deleting the plastic. I counted over 100 holes to weld up and just got lazy after welding the sunroof. I went back with the original color to keep cost down. What a shame to do so that body work, and not delete the plastic body trim panels.

BS. Whole thing is badass. I noted the issue raised by @mudgudgeon, but wouldn’t have said anything (I believe I’d have chose the same, since I like the flares, but have questioned maybe making “detachable” with rare earth magnets if I ever had a chance to fill in all the holes). Takes an Aussie cruiser guy to bring that up! I look forward to visiting @mudgudgeon and those incredible cruiser guys when I can make it to that island someday…Haha. Not really, sir. I postponed starting this build until I had a new rotary lift in my workshop. I did the sunroof delete myself and sent it to a shop next door for paint. He painted the body, motor and frame. I've been doing everything else myself as time allows. Family and work takes precedence so everything has been done in very small blocks of time. I hope to have it running in the next couple of weeks and start working on the interior. What is the time frame of all of those pictures? Few months?
Thank you sir!Dang. The definition of ‘no stone left unturned.’ Very nice!
Check this Facebook group. I think that swap has been done. This is really cool. Definitely considering a similar build for myself (research phase). I would love the NV4500, but my 80 needs to stay auto for my wife. I have too many stickshift vehicles as it is. Do you think there's enough room for the Allison 1000 with GM bellhousing? I have one sitting here left over from a Duramax project. It's looking for a home. I'm thinking six speed Allison behind a mild 12 valve in a nice 80 would be a monumental vehicle.
I saw your rig on YouTube. Good job!I'm glad my fumbling thru my swap was helpful. You've given me ideas and helpful hints along the way too!
