Tried 100 pads once. Not impressed: stopped my rig about the same as 80 pads. Did not like the way the 100 pads overhang the outer edge of the rotor. As they wear down, it can leave a false lip. It's harmless, but it LOOKS like there is a lot...
Yes, when I put 100 series pads on my LX, part of the pad hung over on each end of rotor and didn't touch rotor being that they are bigger than the stock pads...so that part did not wear. So when pads would wear down to 1/4" to half way I noticed...
I tried the "100 series front pads fad" and had braking issues so went back to 80 pads....the 100's are just to big and wear wrong on rotor because of partial pad hang-over.
Your's sound like it has issues beyond pads though....
You got it. The lower weight of the 80 negates the ratio gap in the nv4500. You do need to raise the governed speed to atleast 3000 though. An NV4500 is not fun to drive with an engine that defuels at 2300 rpm.
6 speed is important in a 4 ton...
