Thank you! There’s always something new to learn about.Wow! Cool project!
I think you got Amazon beat on the attention to detail on the packaging and the expert support hotline.I'm just like Amazon Prime, but with 1,607,998 fewer employees.
This one was made in Australia (link below). It was designed to be set in the fender. I’m still trimming the fender and putting the moulding on. It should look like this when I’m done. You couldn’t just cut one 4” hole in your fender and run it fully outside the fender instead of that giant hole where it’s half in and half out of the fender??

I have my eye on your air box that you sell. Based on where this snorkel is set, do you think I can make yours work?It really doesn't look right at all having the snorkel tubing hang 4" off the side of the fender. Recessed in like that is the way to go. It's just tedious to trim the fender perfectly if you want a precise look.

Thank you. I’ll look at my fender and compare to your photos. Does it come with an adapter flange?View attachment 3682399
Here, the tape measure is against the front edge of the cowl, where it meets the hood.
If you look at the opening in the inner fender, the opening machined into the airbox aligns with that opening.View attachment 3682407
Judging from your pictures I think it would work.
The intention is the airbox lines up with the air intake opening in the inner fender and a strip of 1" foam seals it. The airbox is cast extra thick so it can be drilled and tapped to attach a snorkel adapter.Thank you. I’ll look at my fender and compare to your photos. Does it come with an adapter flange?
That’s great. I’ll send you some photos of the inner fender after I mount it to the pillar. I’m also about to set my motor back and put the mechanical fan on so I probably need to do that first before getting your airbox. Do you have any available right now?The intention is the airbox lines up with the air intake opening in the inner fender and a strip of 1" foam seals it. There isn't a lot of room here (as I'm sure you know lol). The Cummins needs a big air filter and that puts the airbox right against the inner fender.
The ultimate endgame for the cast airboxes was to design and cast an aluminum housing with a flange to flush mount in a giant hole you cut in the fender, forming the horizontal run of the snorkel and the transition to the airbox while looking amazing. Then the 4" pillar part of the snorkel would slip in and seal with a gland.
There's a lot of things going on between now and when that happens, but we're gaining some real momentum.
Hopefully that explains why there isn't a snorkel flange, but you can roll your own.
