1983 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 195k miles. A very stout machine with the Trollhole car. The engine runs and pulls beautifully. 4-speed shifts great. The floor is sprayed with bed liner so washing out is a breeze. It has a nice head unit could use new speakers and the interior is decent for its age. Steering is sloppy but definitely manageable. The springs are worn out and the shocks are new Ranchos but didn't ship with the proper bushings. So suspension work could be done. The frame is straight and rust free, it looks like the hood and top core support bar have been replaced. The fenders are a little mangled but from the look of it, there was a shop that tried to straighten the front all out. So in the end, really only the fenders are...

This one's already been bid way up, but I wanted to post a friendly suggestion to do some serious due diligence on this 62.
I came very close to buying this one back when it first went through BaT three years ago. After it went RNM, I went back and forth with the seller while doing more research. What I was hearing wasn't encouraging, so I walked.
Not saying there's anything underhanded or deceptive going on with the current listing, but before you go dropping the better part of 100 grand, be sure to know the history.
Regarding the vehicle as it stands today:
The current owner replaced the rear headrests that were previously MIA, and has some new (minor) service receipts which is good. Also managed to put 4K miles on...

I don't care what the paint looks like, I plan on bed-lining whatever 60 I buy. Same with the interior, though I would prefer one that at least looks decent for being 30+ years old. I'm in north Florida, so I would really like something that I can drive to, within 500 miles would be ideal. I'm also okay with some minor dents and other things. I really just want to make sure the car is running well!

Looking for a mostly stock or lightly modified land cruiser. 1980-1997. Gas or diesel (currently own a tdi and duramax so why not add a toyota diesel!). If it needs work that's fine, I own wrenches and like getting my hand greasy. Willing to drive it home. Preferably on the west coast somewhere. Can do farther east if it runs and can get me home. Its gonna be used off road and maybe during the winter. Doesn't need to be in perfect condition. Little rust is fine. Dings. Scratches. Faded paint. Etc. The old lady is on board with the idea of me putting the time and money to do what I need to get it solid and modified how we want it. She doesn't want me ripping up a beautiful truck. Hello everyone. I am posting an ad to sell my blue 1988 FJ62 . Truck runs and drives good. Has 249k miles. I've put about 600 miles on it. I bought it locally last year as a project truck but want to devote my time to my FZJ80. Its been in the Albuquerque area its whole life. I've done quite a few repairs on it and have spent 5k in parts and have receipts to prove. Some of the more major stuff is the cylinder head gasket and valve job. Injectors rebuilt. Engine reseal however it has started to drip at the rear oil pan and i believe the oil pan arch seal may have not seated properly. Radiator was rebuilt. New Toyota water pump and hoses. The transmission shifts fine however it does have an occasional flare going from 2 to 3rd...

The Truck
This is a great example of a 1985 FJ60 in nearly stock form, plus some tasteful upgrades. I purchased this cruiser from the original owner here in Texas, although it was originally purchased in California and is currently fully smogged with a California emissions label. I can’t promise it will pass smog testing, but I can ensure all of the crucial parts are intact, including a functioning smog pump.
Highlights:
