I'm looking for an FJ62. I drove one today and really enjoyed it!
I'm not looking for a pristine FJ, I don't have the budget for that. I don't mind some blemishes, so long as the rust is not compromising the frame. If possible, no leaks would be ideal (but could be a long shot in my budget). I'd likely be driving with my kiddo, so it needs to be in safe working condition.
This is not intended to be my daily driver, more a weekend warrior/fun vehicle.
I don't mind if the vehicle needs a little work. I'm pretty good at DIY and plan to use this vehicle to learn how to wrench better.
Budget is 20k or less.
I'm happy to provide more input, if there's is something I'm forgetting (which I'm sure I am)...

I'm selling my 1985 FJ6 with about 264000 miles on it. I am the third owner, and have owned it for about 4.5 years. It has been a WA truck since new. The truck runs and drives great and I hope it goes to an enthusiast here.

The frame is an originalnframe the had be blasted and powder coated. Custom motor mounts. Ole man emu lift. Original axles rebuilt. Nothing left untouched.
Started with a dry 99% rust free body. Small dent repaired and painted, wet sanded and buffed. Underside bedlinded giving it a factory appearance.
Am many oem parts used as possible.

Moving to Spain so need to sell my 1985 FJ60. Bought from the original owner in July 2021. This FJ60 spent most of its life in the Portland, OR area with trips to the coast. Very nice original Fj62 with 186k miles. Excellent running, has some rust behind rear wheels, a small amount of damage on front passenger side fender, repaint on hood, the rest of the body is original paint, faded on roof from sun, the rest of the body is decent and still shiney. Driver seat is torn ad has seat cover, other seats are original and in decent shape, new dash cap, instruments are in good shape, rear carpet is bad and needs replaced, front is fair. all glas is good except windshield, it has cracks and needs replaced. I love my 60 but its time for me to admit that I am getting old(er) and my wife has a really hard time getting in and out of it (she is 5’-2”). This is not a pretty LC, it is build for the desert and mountains. There are multiple small dents and dings but overall the truck is rust free and solid.
