I used to have a beautiful '89 that I sold many years ago. Budget ~$30k

I'm in Tampa and have been flirting with letting my '88 FJ62 go (I've had it since 2006 originally a CA truck). It got a 5.3L Vortec transplant back in 2016 and has numerous mods/upgrades that make it a bit more fun/reliable to drive (though I'm sure many would question the reliability of the Chevy engine vs. the Toyota). It's not perfect, though - it could use fresh paint and attention to various small body rust spots. That said, with your budget you could get this to where YOU want it, no problem, all in. There's a link to the build thread from 2016 in my signature block. Recently installed a Goose Gear baseplate in the back and a Mountain Trail tailgate plate as well. Good luck!
