I am posting this for sale for my dad. There are some details I forget but he should be able to answer questions on it. For sale is a 1978 Landcruiser FJ 40 with the 2F inline 6 and 4-speed manual tranny sitting on 37” Toyo Mud Country tires and 15” aluminum wheels. The cruiser has been stretched to I’m thinking 105 but I would need to confirm. The Front axle is a FJ60 (wider) with mini-truck hi-steer. We swapped the axle out instead of converting the stock FJ40 axle to mini truck knuckles because the brakes were better on the FJ60, wider track width (I think 3” or so) and the right stud pattern for the high-steer on the knuckles. Clear WI title w/ current tags. Factory power steering, Weber carb (w/ 1 piece adapter), brand new BFGs. Has had body work done in the past, some was good work, but needs some more. I'd call it a 20 footer...looks good from 20 feet away...no top (although I have all the windows for the hardtop including the vent ones). I do have the doors, but they're in rough shape at the bottoms. PO cut one of the tops off, he was going to make them into 1/2 doors. Interior is ok, bucket seats w/ shoulder belts, OEM rubber floor mats, roll bar, no jump seats. gas tank in the rear between the frame rails. complete fj40 for $500?

I need a few parts for my project - doors, roof, hatch. shuold i buy a whole, Pa-rusty, A-title 69 fj40? the frame has bad repairs in the wheel arches. but it is complete - seats, gauges, running boards, hubcaps etc. but remember all has been sitting in the Pa salt. tub is probably gone. will i get any money for parts? Would someone actually want it whole to restore? your opinons are valued. thanks

'77 FJ40 For Sale-ish feeler (Maine)

'77 FJ40 For Sale in Maine (Hard top installed and More Photos!) I've been doing a lot of thinking lately, and I'm afraid I may have to sell the 40. She's a '77, and a good overall driver, but no means perfect. It runs well, 4 hi and low work perfectly, and shifts smoothly. ODO says 125k, but it said that when I bought it too ;) I'd guess around 130-40k, but I honestly don't know for sure. There is some rust poping up here and there on the body, but nothing too serious. (although, to be honest, the rear spring mounts are going to need attention soon. The rest of the frame is solid.) It could still easliy be repaired without too much work. Hi, Im looking for a fj40 in decent condition. I've had two fj60s, and I want to try a 40 for once. Can be frankenstein in body panels, but has to have as least rust as possible. 350 is preferred over a toyota engine, but i'm really open to any ideas as 2-3k is my budget. FJ40 Out Front of Central NJ Recycler

No interest or affiliation-:hillbilly: Just giving anyone in central New Jersey a heads up that there's a round bezel FJ40 sitting out front of a recycler down the street from my house. Someone brought it in for scrapping I would presume and they set it out front probably hoping to sell it whole. Not sure of the year as I just stopped in there around dark. Has a four speed plate on the dash so I would say between 75-78? Has stock six under hood. Some obvious rot and last registered up in Vermont I think. I have a 70 FJ40 originally purchased in California. It has not been driven on the winter roads of Wisconsin. There is a little bit of rust under the rear gate, a little bit under passenger door and a little bit in the bed where the original roll bar was at due to prior owner putting carpet under bar. I have owned for the last 10 years with high hopes of making it an awesome looking 40 but with Kids in sports and to many other toys some must go to make room for others. 71 fj40 project - body only - so-cal $1200

i have a 71-40 project car, body only, no top or front doors. It's straight enough with uncut rear fenders but has one patched up rear corner that probably should be fixed with new metal but right now it looks ok. The fenders are pretty straight and the hood for it is perfect. It's pretty much all there with a good windshield. It had a v8 but the mounts are all wrong and they cut the stock ones out so something needs to be redone there. The rear frame member is bent out slightly from overloading the hitch on something. There is a bench seat that needs redone, some jump seats and a single roll bar. There is a pretty massive bumper on the front that is straight and a home made tow bar on the front that will unbolt. I have a 1970 fj40 for sale.New parts :new alt. and battery,new voltage reg.,fuel pump,rebuilt carb,all radiator hoses,belt,oil pan gasget,valve cover gasget,master cyl,rebuilt clutch master,rebuilt all wheel cylinders,new paint org color,hard top seals,6 into 1 header (small leak).I have done so much Im sure there something Im forgetting but this rig is in great shape and runs good. No rust to speak of ,there is a few tiny rust spots under the drivers floor that dont hinder a thing.I bought the rig from my boss who bought it in 76.I tried to get it when I was 16 from him but he wouldnt sell it .I finally got it but have to let it go.
