What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week? (19 Viewers)

Dumped the Rotella 15W40 oil out of the engine , refilled with Mobil 1 5W40 synthetic , 17oz of Rislone zinc additive and a new oem filter . Huge warmup time difference and engine seems a lot happier . Found out my local Auto Zone is carrying Fluid Film in spray cans now - wow I love that stuff . Used it on some of the underside bolts on the Taco when changing out the driveline oil yesterday , the way it wicks into steel and surrounding parts is amazing to watch . Plan to get a gallon or two and use my adjustable weed sprayer to apply it to the entire underside on the 40 here soon . If we get any of the apocalyptic blizzards that are expected this winter I'll need the old girl instead of the Taco for rescue work and want it at least protected from the Illinois salt - you can hear older Chevy's rusting away at night if it's quiet....

Has anyone tried the method of using the bulk Fluid Film heated to 120* and sprayed with the weed sprayer ?

Took the Troopy out for a little 4WD test after I got the front end rebuilt.
Videos never do it justice, but this was a fairly steep caliche pit and had all four wheels spinning. I can't wait to get this thing on a trail:

Also found out my radiator is missing a vertical brace and the other side is freshly broken. Must have been that cattle guard... time for some fab work. :wrench:

Hey , thanks for that link - gonna shoot for a gallon n sprayer after the holidays . My Taco looks new underneath - only 21k on it so far and previous owner must have never taken it out unless a perfect day . Cruiser just needs all the help it can get - this is , after all , Illinois...lol .

finished a disc brake conversion on my/my dads '78 FJ45 :cool:
 
Found the best purchase yet for my '40. HH175 with full tank, mask, tools, cart and 2 rolls of wire on Craigslist for $400. Thing is pretty much brand new and I can finally start on the rockers and quarters.

Put new engine mounts in after my 2H lunched the previous ones.... I really should stop all that 4 wheel drifting on the dirt roads......

But its so much fun! :D

Added 5 gallon Jerry can on 72 cruiser

Installed a 5 gallon jerry can holder using a driver side spare tire carrier to mount the holder opposite the passenger side spare tire. Looks ok.

Installed a 5 gallon jerry can holder using a driver side spare tire carrier to mount the holder opposite the passenger side spare tire. Of course not being to bright I then had to reposition the license plate, backup light and license plate light.
 
With 3/8" spacers the 4 piston calipers are pretty big and longer dorman studs part # 610-265
 
It has been snowing and freezing here and the FJ is my only vehicle I own that can get out. Had to repair the windshield pump so I could squirt deicer on the front window. Other than that have been having a ball plowing through snow. It is starting to melt off now so it will be mudding for a while. Some of the clay around here is as slippery as the ice plus you have to watch out for the soft spots where you can be past the hubs before you know it.
 
Installed my new radiator today. Got it from Performance Radiator for only $250! All the radiators I've used from them have been great quality.
