After waiting far too long, completed rear disc upgrade on my Dec 74 - 40. Got the most of the parts including mounting plates from poser, and was very impressed. Excellent workmanship and well thought out.

After install, I went for test drive and did a few hard sotps to see if a proportioning valve was needed.....yes it was. I locked up the rears pretty easy on dry pavement and scared the snot out of some joggers. Now that it is dialed in, it stops straight and true, and I have a ton more confidence when I need the brakes they will be there. Glad I did it , should have done it sooner.

Glad it is working great for you. Just completed a RDB conversion on a beautiful 1971 40 series that a guy spent a couple years building and I am currently installing one on a 1978 40 series.

I finally got my seats redone and installed. Plus a CCOT headliner. Two more checked off the list.

Learned that I will never ever again let anyone else touch my cruiser. I broke down and took it to a shop for the first time ever to have the intake gasket replaced. I don't have a shop, a garage, a carport... anything t put it under. It's been running funky since I got it back... idling rough, loading up, weird hesitation, dieseling, no power.. just running bad. Checked the timing today... holy crap.. SOOOOOOOOOO far off. I have no idea if he just dropped the distributor in it and called it good without checking or what, but it was way way off.

Fixed it and my cruiser is much much much happier. Running nice and smooth again. I'm pretty annoyed but happy it was an easy fix. Looking forward to driving it around this weekend.

I've had a super busy week with the 40. The full write up is in my sig line but the most important thing this week was yesterday when I dropped the oil pan to replace the gasket and a SHOP RAG fell out of the engine!!! The only thing I can figure is because the oil pan is partitioned that the rag must not have been in the center section with the oil pick up. The PO has no idea when or how that got in there...My phone is acting up but the picture should be up soon. Crazy Lucky!

Gheto fabbed a temporary fix for my broken turn signal lever out of a pen tube and some JB weld. :hillbilly:

Had to buy a new battery, installed it and went for a cruise in the desert. Took a buddy with me, went shooting. He says he wants to buy a cruiser now! Also found that folding lawn chairs fit nicely in the old Trasharoo!

I grew up in El paso and found my 77 there; what desert is that pic from, looks a lot like the old stomping grounds.

Hairy, the bag is a "Trasharoo" google it, don't know how I lived without it. 77, thats the Mojave desert in Cali. near the city of Mojave.

Thanks, I love it. I will be adding that to my Christmas list for sure. Always looking for a way to store all the crap we take with us wheeling.

Went to work on a remote community..bush failed on the rear spring hanger...I carry spares and replaced them on the track along with new greasable hangers ...all good....those corrugations on the dirt roads really pummel the suspension...

Here's one next to one of the other 4wd that went. This one is a competition vehicle in the regional 4wd championship:

Drove it. I think my goal is to just drive it on weekends so it gets use. Also worked on a list of things I need to fix (I think I have that in a descent order):
  • T-case rebuild to fix leaks and replace front output bearing
  • Try and solve the multiple electical problems (probably will build a new harness)
  • Redo the seal between the hardtop sides and the gutter
  • Replace the upper heater case with the flap for fresh air
  • Adjust the front doors and redo weather stripping
  • Rebuild the rear storage platform so I can have my dog in the 40
