Today install on the roof rack the GA29 GPS marine ext. antenna ( picture with the light blue marks) for my Garmin 376c...as you can see in the pics the signals and accuracy change in big time, have to said that the gps was on the driver seat for test mode ( factory ant shows with the red marks deleting my location :flipoff2:) ,not on the windshield mount and maybe thats why show little bars on the satellite´s signals but not much difference its was on the mount.

Eshu, why would you install GPS? I've never seen a photo of your rig on an actual road! I'm guessing your Garmin will always be saying "Not on digitized road"

Is this a special GPS made just for your rig?
"Turn left at next rock"
"Drive over tree and river for 2 miles"

With the help of a few buddies ... assembled a Land Cruiser. Frame, engine, springs, axles were all ready done. We set the body on and started attaching everything else. Pic of the frame and engine. The project as it sat yesterday afternoon.

Well this week I bought my 40!

Took the hardtop apart, took all the old carpet / mats out, started finding my rust spots, ordered new drivers side floor plan from CCOT, took out the gas tank. Thats it for today.

Topless BJ44

I was able to get my rollbar fabbed up, painted and installed. Then it was time for a bikini top! Last was a test offroad ride to the Danskins lookout near Mountain Home Idaho. The second photo is in front of one of the original oregon trail stage stops.

Installing fj60 master cylinder and booster into the 40 and new paint. Rewiring my tac and stereo since both died on me. :whoops:

Made and fitted stainless pads to my hood to prevent the rubber cushions from wearing through my paint.

(I understand the BJ42 LX model came out with these as "standard fitment".)

That's a cool rig, man. Congrats.

Chased and slayed electrical gremlins, and lit the cylinders up. Installed the seats and dash stuff. Backed in out of the garage into the driveway just to piss off the neighbor that's been complaining to the HOA.

I worked out the details to get her from Colorado to CAlifornia,I think

Pulled both my axles. Install and clean up rear 55 springs. mocked up Fj60 rear axle
Cut off all the front suspension mounts. Removed old parking brake set up (going Fj60 e brake) hook up my speed-o. Friend came over to repair my dent hood and bunch of other stuff

Hopefully by the end of next week the axles would be welded. and front cut and turn would be done. and almost ready.

Still have a long list to do's

Just finished priming the rest of the parts. High build later today, mock up the tbi manifold to oval out the inner holes, and attach the exhaust headers tonight.

If I get that done, Monday I'll be doing body work, work on the skid plate for the gas tank and get ready for sanding.

Work has slowed down a little so I can get some work done on the TLC.

Yesterday I replace my water pump, thermostat, radiator, fan, belt and hoses. Hopefully my 76 cruiser will run cooler. Next week I'll be replacing carb and dizzy.

I put a 2.5" OME kit in with the help of my local club, High Desert Cruisers, and I can't be any happier.

Busy weekend this week:

  1. fixed my rear lights issue (tks pin_head)
  2. installed spare rear d-shaft
  3. adjusted the valves
  4. set the timing
  5. hit the junkyard for a shifter knob for my new SM465 + 3 other knobs for my new triple-stick setup
  6. installed a new rear brake hard-line for the new monte carlo's in back
  7. filled the brake system and bled it (no leaks :))
  8. fired the engine up and drove her for the first time in 18 MONTHS!

New drivetrain works perfectly! I was jazzed to find a shifter knob that had "L" instead of "1" for first gear for the SM465. I tested out the lowest gear combo on the neighbors hill in their front yard. It wasn't very steep, but still fun to see the cruiser idle up in reverse without me touching the throttle - turns out that 124:1 is REALLY LOW. Can't imagine I'll need it very often, but fun to have it just in case

Bought a set of 60 wheels and...
