painted it rustic green. installed my seats and working on the audio at the moment

Finally started paint job on my 40. Went to "Painters supply" in Salem to get my paint. Tracy the owner was really helpful... I mean Extremely helpful and a GREAT guy for a newby like myself. Cant wait to get it done!!!!!:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:

pulled front bumper off, that was fun, traced it down and found my sending unit was bad for fuel gauge, hooked up tail lights and got them working, got my blinker lights inside the cab working, installed all new components all the way around for all the brakes, traced all the wires and figured out what i need for my 53 wiring troubles. that was it this week a lot of little tinkering, the brake job sucks but the wiring isn't so bad.

I am constantly tearing out, replacing and discovering wiring problems. Would you send some pointers my way? I would like to have all wiring clean and tied to a new fuse panel. Not sure how to go about it piece meal, my HJ 47 is my daily driver, and I work out of it all day long as a contractor.

Checking in

Hey Werd,

It has had one wide open season of work, good & not so good, slowly putting small repairs together for my HJ 47. I want to clean up the wiring; it is a constant discovery process; weeding out, replacing. Any pointers you might have would be greatly appreciated.

SeattleMobile,

Mark

ouch.

Finally got the knuckles rebuilt and threw some new shackles on the back. Got the 350 dialed in and took it for a ride last night. Rides nicer with the longer shackles and those 42's

Pulled the engine and took it to the Machine shop. Cleaned and checked the head. Pulled the fenders, bib, and hood to start sanding..... The list goes on.........

Took it completely apart.

Took it completely apart.
:lol::lol:

Got my front axle ground down to fit the longfields, got my large pattern knuckle housings in, courtesy of Pappy and are prepping those to go back on once I get the e-locker third installed on the axle;)

edit: the front wheel bearings on the 80 are shot too, got those on the way from Kurt

Drove it to GSMTR and back - about 7 hours total plus some driving on site.

Rebuilt JimC carb, dizzy and rebuilt 2F by ACC worked great.

Fuel delivery sucked.

Took off all fuel vent lines and checked for why pressure is building up - decided to replace all and drop a new used tank in place of my beat up one.

Hi All:

WOW! I get to finally post something.
ok, after not taking any time on my 40 since making tube fenders (that are not quite done yet)
i cut down my rear shackles and did a final weld up on the rear hangers.
took a good 2-3 hours of tacking and cutting to get the angle set up.

no pics, 2bad ;)

Got my stretched 40 frame back from the fabricator and dropped the 27" stretched Aqualu tub on it. Now I've got to build body mounts, finish reparing the front cowl.....
