-Installed my rebult 1F. I painted it Cummins beige cause I like it and I will be able to pinpoint oil leaks in the future.
-Ordered a new clutch master cause mine went out during the engine install, driving me nuts not to be able to test out the new engine! The paint will have time to cure properly now.
-Greased everything.
-Installed new points.
-Pulled my rear heater to take to a radiator shop and have them fix a leak

Drove her for the first time this year. Broke and crushed my right wrist April 26 just when it was getting nice enough to get her out. Steel plate installed and bone grafts. I can shift from first to second and third to fourth with my right hand but use my left for 2 to 3, reverse and the parking brake. It steers easier than my other two vehicles.

It does look painful - How did it happen?

D60 Brake Calipers To Fit 15" Wheels

I modified a pair of stock Dana 60 caliper brackets to fit 15" wheels. I could have bought some but what fun is that ;p Still needed to slightly clearance the calipers though. These are going on my hybrid axle w/LC center & D60 outers :smokin:

This week I left my key "on" and drained down two yellowtop optimas, fried two battery chargers bringing them back, and then snapped my throttle cable when I got my power back up to snuff.

Some weeks are better than others.

Next week I'll do a throttle cable and pull my doors off. :D

Got my wheel aline done ,turned out preety good I was out 1/4 in on tow in and my barn yard cut and turn was 2.68 deg. right 2.71 left .Can let go of the steer wheel at 60 going over bumps with 35s.Really resposive though.

put a new w/s seal in

What a PITA piece of rubber:mad:

Ive done a couple of windshields but this was a real pain. Then again I was doing it alone. read the tech section post and it showed putting the seal on the glass then installing it and that didnt work for me with no helper. I had my frame on the bench and I put the seal on the windsheild frame and ran the cord around in the seamfor the glass then I worked the bottom edge in then zipped the cord up and around

the last time went well but it took a lot of attempts to get it right!:bang:

Searched for f'ing water leak.

Thought it was gaskets.

Pulled the pump, then pulled it all apart.

Then hand cut custom gaskets.

Then found I still have the leak :bang::bang::bang:

Some feel it is the weap hole.

I have an alternate theory.

I feel the guy who sold it to me is an @$$hole.

Cest la vie.

New water pump is on the way and we shall see if it is weap or not.

Today was going to put the bondo on and sand the cruiser down. I hated the idea of covering up crap so I'm cutting the rear fenders off and making new ones. Oh and making a rear sill. Fun stuff.

Went from this today

new 2.5" OME

Installed a new OME Heavy kit. Hmm.... those stock 29's looking a little inadequate now!

Took the driver's door off the '79, cleaned it up and rattle canned it blue and put it on the '83. I guess the '79 is a parts truck now, I can't afford to fully restore 1 truck, let alone 2.

FJ45 Pickup Rear Chop

Chopped 14" off the back of my FJ45 so it fits in the garage.

Will also improve departure angle and has been the plan for a while but measuring the garage at our new house and finding it's 15 and a half foot long brought the plan forward.

Just got to drill and bolt the back C section. Those rivets take some getting out but it was reassuring to see how much metal is still in the frame.

And after.

Just need to build a tray. I think this pickup was supplied bare and whatever was on there was long gone when I got it.

Also detal of rivets.

Helped a guy I met few years back that's a Vietnam vet that has a '74. He told me how he ended up with a 40 when he was in Nam in 67. It was left by a civilian contractor that the Air Force used and he fell in love with it. Says he used to use it to retrieve jeeps.
