The problem I'm having is the bolts that hold the spacers to the hats (discs brakes). Because the spacers are 1/2" thick, I have about 1/2 a nuts worth of engagement. If the nuts were any thicker, the nuts would interfere with the rims and not allow it to sit flush against the spacer. They haven't backed out or even loosened up at all, but it's always on my mind. I'd have to loose a wheel on the freeway. I'll try to get a pic this weekend.Budget doesn’t allow for new wheels which are really thick. These spacers are 1”.
Have you tried the open “tuner” lug nuts which pass through the wheel to pick up more threads on the stud?
Edit to include link-

It will be worth the effort. I changed mine to the Energy Suspension System a couple of years ago. What a noticeable difference. Be sure to tighten them again after a few months of driving. Some new rubber bits from SOR. Ordered the Energy Suspension body mounts... am starting the PBlaster soak and charging the sawzall.

So just a few minutes ago I decided to start figuring out why cruiser wouldn’t start. I was looking at the spark plug wires to make none of them where loose. Upon doing so I realized that I had 5 and 6 mixed up on the distributor cap. Upon that the ignition cord also wasn’t plugged into the cap.So I deflected the rear tires just enough to get the cruiser out. Ended up having to charge the battery for a few.
After charging the battery I pump the gas pedal several times and possibly more than I should have. The motor was turning but wouldn’t start. However in between doing so my daughter came out and jumped in the drivers seat asking about how the knobs worked as far if you pull them out or something similar. Upon her doing that I realized I didn’t pull the choke. It’s been so long since I was in a cruiser I completely forgot about it.
However I never got it to start and I believe I flooded the hell out of it. Once I check to make sure it’s running smoothly I’m putting a sniper on it.

When I did my my hinges I started getting rain water through the screw threads into the glove box. I had to put sealer on them, that fixed it.View attachment 3952162
Polishing compound and an old toothbrush.
In case you’re wondering about the tread plate material, I don’t have a ladder for the rig: I climb on the hood to get to the roof rack.

Now I guess I should detail the rest of the hood!![]()
