A little bit of JB weld and some super strong magnets make for mighty fine cupholders
No use for cup holders, mounted holster, and magazines maybe.
Rope trick... Make sure the rope isn't stuck in the cylinder.. Don't ask me how I know..
Replaced dry rotted rear window rubber via city racer.

Some new rubber bits from SOR. Ordered the Energy Suspension body mounts... am starting the PBlaster soak and charging the sawzall.

It will be worth the effort. I changed mine to the Energy Suspension System a couple of years ago. What a noticeable difference. Be sure to tighten them again after a few months of driving.

Hello my fellow masochists, its been an eventful few weeks, the ute tub is still in the prep stage (pics to follow) it seems someone has been there before & used a mix of fibreglass & enough filler to build a small cottage, so l've been stripping it back to bare metal, treating the rusted areas with zinc poly primer, filling with aluminium filler, sanding it back & building up the filler layer by layer...l've also replaced the 2 upper panels, (wheel arch to back of the cab area), 1 was for a spare fuel tank filler hose & heavily pitted, the other was mainly fibreglass & pretty rotten, so now its had 2 new 2mm panels (coach) bolted back into place as per the original fittings. The side panels/tailgate are currently being filled & the paint work sanded ready for a complete poly primer overcoat, the re-spray can wait. In the meantime the clutch is really low & the thrust bearing is now growling, so a new clutch is going to have to be the next job..(luckily a new neighbour 4mls away is a mechanic (bmw trained) and l offered/gave him some old (new) bmw parts & delivered them to him, he's offered to 'give me a hand'.... 
..... all this before l venture into replacing the leaking exhaust manifold pipe & studs, after picking up the new pipe & its made to measure fittings from the engineers last week.... meanwhile its onwards & upwards...

Update..today l got this far... l've 4 days of rain coming so its onto...redoing the kitchen... ute pics below.. the base is actually black but sanding for hours turned it dusty grey...it & the tailgate have had 1 coat of rustproof primer.
Further update...Whilst taking a break from gutting the kitchen ( translation...l've found an excuse to meander into what l actually want to get on with)....a thought occured to me, l've a 35yro 2.5l tin of industrial black lead paint kicking around, l could use it to cover the primer on the outer panels after l've applied the 2nd coat of primer...it'll be shiny but l can always buff it back if its too loud...before l get the respray done at some point.
Damn... its still raining.... back to the self imposed sentence.....

So just a few minutes ago I decided to start figuring out why cruiser wouldn’t start. I was looking at the spark plug wires to make none of them where loose. Upon doing so I realized that I had 5 and 6 mixed up on the distributor cap. Upon that the ignition cord also wasn’t plugged into the cap.
I haven’t tried starting it since the discovery but will follow up once I do.
Once you get it correct mark the boots with a yellow paint marker. On the hood inside: points & spark plug gap, valve clearances, firing order, dizzy rotation. In grease pencil last compression #'s. On the fan an arrow for direction
I discovered a small leak at the back of the engine on the Karma Cruiser recently . I did a valve adjustment a couple of weeks ago and determined that wasn’t it. But definitely wet on the lip by the starter. So Monday I pulled off the side cover. This gasket may have been installed in 2010, when I dropped the 2F in “temporarily “. Or it could be from when I had the engine rebuilt for @FJ45Dude 30 years ago. In either event, the rear vertical of the gasket was split on the rib of the cover.
I took the time while the dizzy and coil were out to detail them. They’re at least 15 years old too. As are the side cover bolts. Everything shined up nicely. And @majdomo stopped by just long enough to help get that one pesky bolt behind the water pump hose started.

While I don’t intend to respray the truck, I am planning to start cutting some of the rust spots out, starting with the rocker panels. In the meantime (while I’m waiting for my color-matched paint to ship), I decided to detail one of the hood hinges.

In case you’re wondering about the tread plate material, I don’t have a ladder for the rig: I climb on the hood to get to the roof rack.
Now I guess I should detail the rest of the hood!

When I did my my hinges I started getting rain water through the screw threads into the glove box. I had to put sealer on them, that fixed it.View attachment 3952162
