Took buttercup out for an exploration in search of Helene damage and this is what we found. Creek had completely washed out the dirt road.

WHYD to your Cruiser this week?
A couple of things needed to be taken care of. One is the shifter on my 62 had gotten pretty sloppy. So had to replace the bushings. After getting it all back together I could not get it to shift into park correctly. Fyi dont turn that knob at the top of the shifter pole. That was the issue.
Two. My back window would not roll up. It would roll down but not up. That issue was the little rocker arms in the main switch on the drivers door had gotten corroded. After cleaning those up the issue was resolved. That one was very tedious work.

Trying to wrap up the final bits and pieces before the VT Pilgrimage this week. If you don't know about it, check it out.

Finally have her primed and ready for final sanding then on to paint. IDK about any of you but seam sealing is a bitch!!! Sealed the qtr panel /door seam with 3m product and it shrunk considerably! Tried again with another 3m type sealer using a small profile shape to hopefully match what was originally on it and anticipated shrinkage......this one didn't shrink at all!! Don't know if I should cut it down and try again or leave it!? You can see them in the pics

Looks good. If the two products are the same type of material makeup. I would just caulk over the old. If not, then I would test a small seam with the new stuff and make sure it adheres really good and then proceed.

Replaced the oil pan gasket, and then had a friend 3D print a door plug.

New Bilsteins and added back the leaf I removed out of each pack years ago on the OME 4” Safari lift in anticipation of putting the hardtop back on.

Got in a ride.

I love this little shot I got recently back of my wife checking out the epic surf and the salt wagon fj40. This shot was taken with a Nikon f5 + 35mm f2d lens and some kodak proimage 100 film.

I have been driving her almost daily for the past six months. Just put her in the garage on Sunday, removed the old carpet, seats, roll bar and fuel tank. Getting ready to tackle some rust and spray on Lizardskin followed by a bedliner. I redid the hardtop this summer with LP paint on the outside, Lizardskin on the inside, followed by a new headliner.
