It's been a while! Continuing shakedown. It's loud, hot, slow and smelly -so "normal".

It'll hang at 2500rpm all day and about 55mph.

The pan leak is "managed". The pan is pretty warped but with persuasion and patience it'll fit.

There's some valvetrain "tacking" noise from one of either #5 or #6 rockers. But it's "fine for now".

The brakes are double pumpers but will grab really well once they get going. -will bleed again.

It's almost time for the annual 55 patina preservation day. Might try Poppy's this go around. Thoughts?

Previously my front drum brakes seized unexpectedly. I’ve bought the SST (thanks to @Racer65 shop) to check the booster / master cylinder alignment.

So. Instead of 0,6-0,65 mm, I had minus 5mm (under constant pressure).

After adjustments everything looks correct

Might be helpful to check if you change a master cylinder or a booster.

I didn’t know this was a required measurement… I bought a new master cylinder and figured …bolt it on and bleed it.
Fact: what you don’t know CAN hurt you.

By the way. There is a simple way to check the seized drum brakes (if they are not overheated). You need to unscrew the 4 nuts securing the brake master cylinder and move it away from the booster (do not disconnect the tubes). In this case the drum brakes should be unlocked and the cause will be identified

Very good note! This is why I put the instruction on the City Racer website. Sometimes people would contact me saying their new brake booster is dragging; I immediately point them to the link. This step is mandatory. It's a very precise spec; you can't just eye it.

Looks like you need to check in here.

Got the correct windscreen hinges to allow me to drop the windscreen. Then made up my tube doors as well as a canvas top to keep the sun off me. Ready for summer now.
Reworked my air in take setup. Shorter run now, less restrictions. Much better growl out of the engine now and it might be a placebo effect hut I swear more pep now as well.

Then took it to the Zimbabwe Classic car show. I don't technically qualify but none of the organisers cared and everyone loved it. Spent most of the day just chatting to people about rhe build and revving it up for others!

Also finally got my compressor, so hopefullt paint soon.
