Put some drake hood hold downs on my fj40. Can decide if i like them or not, time will tell. better than no hood hold downs thats for sure. Put some scat rally seats, dashman dash storage, Con ferr rear seat. New top and soft doors and some billet pedals. Now just need to decide on sime tires for it. Some big moster tires on 15 inch marsh racing wheels.

I removed the cover, installed a thin sheet on top of a bead of silicone, and then reinstalled the cover. It still looks like there’s a vent but it doesn’t leak.
Does water sit between the cowl vent and the thin sheet you installed? What guage did you use?

The cowl vent is tight to it so water hasn’t been a problem.

I’m not sure the gauge, but it’s roughly 1/16”. It was scrap I had around. If I were to buy it, I’d get thinner.

Bolted on my dual master kit from man a fre. It converts the single master to a dual. Doing it for safety reasons. I'm running a 76 front axle with disc brakes, and this master is built for that scenario.
Notice no booster.... That's right... dual master, front disc non powered brakes. Did a ton of research and found it works just fine...

Still happy with this setup having no booster? Seems like the way to go if brakes work well and required pedal effort isnt hulkish.

I rebuilt a carb.

Installed my new coral seats into Project Patina today. Material from @Cruiser Corps and work done locally

@wngrog Did those rear seat covers come from Cruiser Corps with the stitching? I am only seeing flat panel long rears. Just cruious if you meant you had the covers MADE locally, or just installed locally. I would like to replicate these covers front & rear for a '69 I just picked up.

Thanks.

Drove it 400 miles round trip to Uwharrie. 3FE with H55f, 15.2 mpg going 70 on the interstate on 31x10.5 tires.
My son and I were out there all weekend. He was in a white LC100 and I was in a white LC80. Nice weekend to ride the trails.

Outstanding!! How did you clean so well while preserving the gold cad finish? I seem to burn through the color every time leaving bare metal.
Soaked everything in an old can of barryman carb cleaner, small batches of about 15 minutes each then a rinse with brake clean. The carb dip is the good, old formula, kind that gives you a headache if you’d let it. Found the can when we were cleaning out my grandpas garage, it was unopened from the 80’s.
