I'm (finally) re-assembling my PTO winch. Gearbox put together:

Also note that while early (1976 and older) PTO winches may look like, there are some differences.

The clutch engagement lever shaft and spring on earlier models (left in picture below) were shorter and less spring than later ones (right picture). I know that the shaft on the right is a part of the winch I bought new in a crate in 1979.

The older one had plain numbered bolt heads; the newer one had the numbered bolt heads within circles, within a hex head with raised edges.

I've recently switched from a Weber to the same carb you are running. I am not sure what the large inlet pipe is for, but I capped it off. I find that it fills with fuel and it is possibly causing some performance issues occasionally when the fuel sloshes around. I am not sure, but it is a hunch. What are you going to plug that up with or do you know what it is for?

EGR port. Not sure yet how I will block this off. I had two carbs to work with. The original 1977 EGR block had bad mating surfaces. (The integral gaskets were in poor condition). My spare carb had great mating surfaces on the EGR block but the tube had been hammered closed so I cut if off and used this block when I rebuilt the carb. I'm thinking I'll machine a metal plug and maybe epoxy it in?

I didn't think of that since I am going off of an '81 emissions manual for my '82. From what I gather for SOR.com carb identifier, its a 9/77 - 1/79 Federal. I am guessing they moved the EGR inlet from the carb to the intake at some point. Thank you for getting me back on track. Still need to figure out a solution to keeping that pipe from filling up with fuel.

Got it to move under its own power! Monumental moment! Obviously needs a front windshield and many other things…but who cares

That is an excellent fitting top!

Center compartment for the narrow space between the seats on FJ43, 2 ammo boxes to make one taller one and fits perfectly in there.

Finally got a start to rigging up my new 40l footwell water system from Boab. 12mm braided hose, Philmac 1/2” bsp poly fittings with a 3/4” reducer for the valve.

12v water pump to come, keen to get the ball rolling on this wet setup!
