I changed the oil, spark plugs, and the master/slave cylinders, as well as the soft line. Wish this girl would have been able to pump the clutch, or that I had a power bleeder, but instead, had lots of ups and downs. Now I dont have to pump the clutch anymore!

Fixing more leaks.

Cheers

Notic
replaced fuel filter, fuel lines and hose clamps with original Toyota clamps...but after installing the final clamp, noticed the PO just left the original clamps hanging on the line when he replaced them with the screw down type.

Noticed the exact same thing when under my ‘76 this past weekend, how long does it take a PO to remove old clamps 🙄🙄😊

I just replaced the the old positive and negative cables w some new, heavier gauge ones. Cleaned the ground really well, and cleaned all the crud off the starter post...turns over a helluva lot faster now; we'll see how it does in the cold Flagstaff morning.

Putting everything back together to get it road ready. PO had a jumper wire and fuse to make the turn signals work, thought the flasher fuse was bad so I upgraded it. Turns out the flasher fuse was good and the flasher switch was gunned up. Also replaced the old turn signal switch as I thought that was bad too (hazards worked, turn signal didn’t). It was also sticking so I thought it was bad. Took the hazard switch apart, cleaned all the contacts and added new grease. Everything works as it should, one small victory. Really like the ability to be able to fix an issue instead of throwing parts at it.

Sorry for turning your forum into Pinterest but it seems impossible to get hold of the plastic handles for the lever that reclines FJ40 seats, so let's make some.

I've got lots of these little jars. Admittedly my kebab sticks and tape were a bit amateur.

Add my alginate, prop it up and leave for 10 minutes

Two part resin plus black glitter.
