Welcome to my world.Broke a thermostat housing bolt off while attempting to change the thermostat
Welcome to my world.
Drill it out and try not to break the ezout off in the bolt. you may have to chase the threads with a tap after you get it out.Did you have success extracting the broken bolt or did you replace the housing?
I use copper anti-seize on the bolts, helps prevent the corrosion issues with dissimilar metals - steel bolt and aluminum housing.Drill it out and try not to break the ezout off in the bolt. you may have to chase the threads with a tap after you get it out.

What type of rust converter was it? Check the label - some converters still require a topcoat to seal in the converted metal and prevent future rust. If needed I would spray something in there before the seam sealer.Like some of you I found water in the floorboard after a rainstorm. I could see some cracks in the cowl seam. I scraped the old stuff out. Taped her up. Used a fine tip brush to get some rust converter into the seam.
Any suggestions on weather or not I should do anything else before I install the new seam sealer ?

Firewood insurance?I've been driving the wheels off of my 40 for the last few weeks, now the diesel dually is parked in the drive undergoing some maintenance.

On the bright side, I am still driving the 40 every day.
