Time to get the PTO gearbox cleaned up. Checked out the bearings (they were fine) replaced the seals (long gone) and the gaskets on the bearing retainers. Buffed out all the steel parts and painted. Cleaned up the aluminum case with mineral spirits and a wire brush on a die grinder.

Next step is to "bench press" it into position...

A couple of weekends ago my youngest son and I went on a short backpack trip in the area above the top of your right ambulance door. Probably the most rugged and geologically complex area in the Jemez. The predominant peak in the background of the first two photos is the highest in the Jemez at 11,561 feet. The third photo shows a pretty impressive group of tent rocks. The dark colored part of the left side of the several hundred foot spire of volcanic rock in the fourth photo is almost pure obsidian (or dragon glass for those Game of Thrones fans out there). The fifth photo is looking southwest across the Valles Caldera National Preserve from a vantage point rarely visited - at least by humans. There are ~8,000 elk in the Jemez last I heard and from the signs, they really love this area.

My ingition switch has no tumblers (I can start it with a screwdriver and pull the keys out while driving- fun trick) and I left the ignition on for about 5hrs yesterday after working on some wiring. I blew my coil.

Replaced coil. Drank a beer.

I had my neighborhood Toyota service center install a new Cruiser Corps windshield with OEM weatherstrip. They also replaced some rotted weatherstrip on the old ambulance door glass.

The guy at the service desk couldn't contain himself, and he told me how stoked he was that he got to drive it.

Like $190. They ask $80/hour.
